Are any of those "meal replacement" things any good? Seems like a lot of them are marketed as being good for weight loss, which is very much not what I'm into. I just want easy foods that have robot gender in them. Thoughts?

@Vistl I'm someone who needs to gain weight but am too dysfunctional to make breakfast some days, but they're decent for when I forget to make breakfast that's for sure. Won't fill your appetite but also it's better than nothing

@Vistl I just eat Soylent but there's probably a better one

astrid.tech is transitioning into an apple development blog. we will talk only about apple development topics. no more linux. only apple

@starshine several! a work macbook and a personal macbook that i rarely use. @alia on the other hand,

astrid,
@astrid@fedi.astrid.tech avatar

@starshine the personal macbook is largely just for development and testing too, it's @alia's old one

funnily enough, among desktop distros, i get more macos readers than from any other os. i was expecting linux users to be more than windows users but the higher-than-usual proportion of linux users is still unsurprising

this is very pretty

astrid,
@astrid@fedi.astrid.tech avatar

@natty @Clover trying to think how this works... so the smaller the number the more things are on each line, and the bigger the number the less things per line. Since Fibonacci numbers are approximately exponential, you have a mostly linear increase in the number of digits with each number (1 digit every 5 or 7 numbers I think?)

astrid,
@astrid@fedi.astrid.tech avatar

@natty @Clover yea if I had to guess it's either a parabola or hyperbola

astrid,
@astrid@fedi.astrid.tech avatar

@natty @Clover actually I'm leaning more hyperbola

astrid,
@astrid@fedi.astrid.tech avatar

@Clover @natty here's my reasoning -- the line will become linear at some point, when there is only 1 number per line, and hyperbolas also converge towards a line

astrid,
@astrid@fedi.astrid.tech avatar

@Clover @natty I got nerd sniped and did a bit of calculus and I ended up with the relationship as WL^2 - ki^2 = C where W is the screen width, L is the line number, k and C are some constant, and i is the number... number. And that's hyperbolic I think

astrid,
@astrid@fedi.astrid.tech avatar

@Clover @natty wait. no. i may have miscalculated.

astrid,
@astrid@fedi.astrid.tech avatar

@Clover @natty ok yep it's not hyperbolic it is definitely parabolic

astrid,
@astrid@fedi.astrid.tech avatar

@Clover @natty actual formula is WL = i^2. Parabola implies it constantly accelerates and does not converge to a linear increase, right? So the trick is that the acceleration is represented by the number overflowing the page width

astrid,
@astrid@fedi.astrid.tech avatar

@Clover @natty why did I do this. i did not have to do this. i am a fuckin nerd

astrid,
@astrid@fedi.astrid.tech avatar

@Clover @natty thus. less than 1 number per line

astrid,
@astrid@fedi.astrid.tech avatar

@Clover @natty also waahhh i'm not smart
