Yes and no. They should really separate the fancy stuff from the base stuff. Like have a kwin-wayland-base and kwin-wayland-extras.
I guess some other features are not easy to rip out, but having only simple animations etc would really make sense.
I will try Plasma 6 on an Intel core Duo in some time though, exited.
They have an issue with disabling not needed stuff. XWaylandVideoBridge, legacy app tray support, GTK global menu adapter, and other cool but edge case stuff is just always running in the background.
Same for accessibility, GUI keyboard and Orca, even though they will be somehow dynamically loaded, they are not controllable transparently by the user.

QMMP hat ein sehr einfaches Qt Layout. Wenn ich in den “skin” Modus wechsel ist es winzig klein, die andockbaren Fenster gehen nicht unter Wayland, die Knöpfe haben die falsche Farbe etc.
Wenn ich nen anderen skin in dem skin directory des Flatpaks ablege ändert das gar nix.
Weiß nicht, ich glaub ich bleib erstmal bei G4Music XD und vllt Amarok.
Wayland macht eigentlick kaum Probleme solange man Qt und GTK benutzt… ok heute war die erste Qt App (die zugegeben komische Sachen macht) die nicht funzt.
Electron ist bei mir 50% noch mit XWayland ansonsten habe ich alle Apps nativ auf Wayland.
Update 1: Thanks for all the responses! I’ve gotten a lot of very good comments saying I should stick with Mint, and that’s sitting comfortably in my top two picks right now. Between new distros, I’m most interested in Arch’s rolling release model, as it provides some benefits for me for reasons I didn’t really get...
