Traffic slowed on the bridge near the Naval Academy... what is this about?... then heard a loud sound. Took a quick picture from my (of course) pickup truck. 🇺🇸
Filled out some more panels on my Ker Nethalas dungeon run over the weekend. Feel I'm getting a little better at doodling. Found my first rare item, a mastery amulet.
@davesnider I put it on the shelf due to having other games running, but I found having a solo game with a journal is a very enjoyable writing experience, and helps keep all the RPG skills honed.
My kids are 9 and 11. They've been interested in Dungeons and Dragons indirectly through me for years. I was worried it was a little too rule heavy for them, and instead started them on a Game Book (basically a choose your own adventure with state) called Legendary Kingdoms. It's meant to be single player, but you control four characters. I narrate.
We've had the best time playing through the story. Highly recommend as an intro to deeper gameplay for young kids.
Watching Friedkin's Sorcerer for the first time. I've watched Wages of Fear many times before and know its beats. This is the rare remake that adds to the story while sticking to the tenants of the first film. It feels like a horror film closer to the tension / vibe of Apocalypse Now.
MLB is so funny. I pay a decent chunk of change for a Flex plan for Orioles tickets (live). I pay for MLB TV. They blackout the games because I'm local and they want me paying for cable. I pay for a VPN to get around it. But MLB still has one game a day exclusive on Apple TV. I don't need that, so I'll just watch a pirate stream.
The money I'm paying to get around this bullshit id happily pay directly to them, bypassing all this middle man shit.
I have always hated getting my hair cut. There's always something weird about going someplace every couple months and having a random stranger touch your head and cut off hair. "How do you want it cut"? Just writing that out, it seems so foreign to me, but it's something I've always done, because it's just what you do.
No more! I cut my own hair today. It looks fine. I've reached peak Dad.
Somehow I'm enjoying Remnant II despite always bouncing off of other Soulslike games. I think the immediacy of hitscan guns does it for me. I'm always too impatient in the slow, heavy combat of Dark Souls.
I also like that most of its game mechanics aren't obscured by lore. I'm OK with clicking "make my game public" rather than needing some weirdly named item only a wiki would explain.
@Novyx Yeah, been playing with headphones. The sound design is suuuuper well done. Can always tell which side the enemy is on. Just beat that weird maze boss. Super fun game.
