I'm really annoyed by how much Brave Search is pushing AI

I’ve been using Brave Search supplemented by Startpage for the past 2+ years. When I search for something, I want to get results for credible webpages, not a summary of unknown quality. I liked the previous AI inclusion because it was instant, didn’t take up much space, and I could quickly navigate to the websites referenced...

isVeryLoud,

What distro are you using? Extensions? Themes? Stock GNOME 46 does not look like this.

isVeryLoud,

Oof Manjaro loves to add some… tasteless additions. The shell theme is definitely your problem.

IMO the only non-stock shell theme that’s acceptable is Ubuntu’s Yaru as it has been tested for accessibility and contrast, and is 100% supported by Canonical.

isVeryLoud,

Looks much better, enjoy!

isVeryLoud,

That would be it, GNOME 46 moved a lot of things around and GNOME 45 themes are no longer working.

This is the reason why the GNOME team discourages third party themes.

isVeryLoud,

Of course! ❤️

isVeryLoud,

C’est moins pire que c’étais jadis à mon avis, Lévis est bin pire!

isVeryLoud,

Sorry, I don’t take hearsay as evidence.

Truth is, there is little evidence suggesting benefits of veganism beyond being good for the environment. The “benefits” people are seeing is simply a result of an overlapping Venn diagram between vegans and people who exercise well and take care of themselves. Correlation is not causation.

www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10027313/

While veganism has been shown to decrease the risk of cardiovascular and metabolic syndrome, it also carries the potential for micro- and macronutrient deficits. It should be noted that vegans often have better socioeconomic levels, live a healthier lifestyle with more physical exercise, and tend to smoke less compared to non-vegetarians, making it difficult to isolate the effects of veganism in observational research. Existing research is often skewed by selection bias, which is when the study sample is chosen based on prior eating patterns and such studies are often recruited in environments with a high level of health awareness.

ChromeOS is Gentoo-based and does use the Linux kernel, but everything in the userspace has little to do with the Linux desktop besides Crostini, which is just a Debian container.

That’s unlike Android, whose kernel derives itself from a heavily gutted version of the Linux kernel, redesigned to support closed source binary blob drivers provided by device manufacturers and with low level support for the Dalvik JVM. Its API has little to do with the mainstream Linux kernel.
