I found Nginx Proxy Manager to be the easiest to configure when I was starting out my homelab! I think the GUI played a big part in that, but it's also just pure NGINX under the hood, so when you get more comfortable with the concepts, you could easily transition to that for even lower overhead (welp, I just had a look at my docker stats, NPM is sitting at 3.2 MB of ram with ~10 proxy hosts, not sure how necessary that even is...)
Well, I've been self hosting for a few years now, haven't really had the need to jump into a text config for NGINX yet (apart from the rare custom configs some services need, but those are still done in the GUI). Caddy has it's draws, as does traefik, but I think it's easier to learn the concepts with the ease of use a GUI offers!
Every server has it's own instance of Nginx Proxy Manager (not needed, but helps with using docker networking), then every service I run on docker, I just use docker networks to talk to the rproxy.
My network is designed such that all my externally available services are on one server, so I just forward 80 & 443 to that.
For every other service (not on docker), I just use 127.0.0.1 + port.
For services on other servers on my LAN, I use Internal IP + port.
Oooh boy, everything I own that is moddable gets modded at the earliest (financial, mostly 😝) convenience. Currently I'm the proud owner of a modded Switch, 3DS, GBA, GBA SP, PS3, PS4 and of course, my darling PS Vita! I almost can't help myself with these things... All that stuff and, yet, all I seem to have time for is the excellent Metroid Prime Remaster... One day, backlog...One day...
It's probably my favourite handheld in terms of build quality and feel! Not the best emulation system, but it certainly is the most comprehensive Sony console (You get perfect PS1 emulation, it practically has a PSP built in, and then there Is the Vita library which is full of hidden gems). If you decide to pull the trigger, I doubt you'll be disappointed! Just keep in mind that the (IMO superior) OLED model needs an original memory card (any size) to be modded, so try to find a listing with one included!
I second this! I have been with Hetzner for a couple of years now, pretty happy overall. You could get a decent setup for around 20-25 EUR/m. For 25 you could get a 5TB storage box with a 4core/8GB/160GB SSD VPS, which, IMHO is a decent deal.
As for latency, which I saw you asked about, I have a VPS in their Falkenstein DC and I get 35-40ms from Greece (on a Gigabit FTTH, normalised for LAN latency)
Safari has actually been a decent experience for me since I joined the golden cage a few months back. It really just works (most of the time™️), as do allmost things Apple. Lack of support for some modern web technologies is rather off-putting, though...
Seems like foldable phones are taking over (e.g. Motorola Razr making waves) and only Apple is missing an entry in this form factor now. Almost everyone who can afford one swears by it with the exception of weak build quality....
As a repair technician, I would stay well away from foldables (the durability/parts availability ratio being my main concern). I have to say, though, the massive nerd in me is not happy at all…

Anyone else here right into emulation/roms/CFW and retro handhelds? What've you got + what are you playing?

[Question] OVH vs hetzner for a cheap dedicated server
I don't know if renting a dedicated server goes against the point of selfhosting but whatever....
what web browser do you use and why?
I use geh Firefox forks mull and fennec, I occasionally use vanadium. I just like privacy but tor is overkill for me

What do you think of foldable phones?
