    @fujiwara yeah, i don’t use windows at all anymore. i don’t use linux a ton but it is my desktop’s OS. i’m probably just gonna stick to macos. i don’t play many PC games but the ones i do work with crossover so :mikushrug:

    elden ring seems to do open world in the way i love best—go fuck around and figure out the world yourself!

    a breath of fresh air compared to SO many hellish maps littered with “go here!” icons and “follow me!” light trails. :mikusmile:

    the amount of people i see saying they would never skip adding achievements to a game project just seems…weird.

    like, do people genuinely care that much? i think it’s neat when a game with different endings or whatnot tracks your progress and how well you did based on some parameters (like silent hill’s star ranking system), but i’ve never really cared all that much for achievements or trophies.

    hell, the only platinum i have on PS5 is astro’s playroom because it came with our PS5 at launch and it kept me busy while the library built up…and i’ve only ever 100%’d SA2 because i like the game and wanted to do all the challenges, but not for the online gamer points…i was only mildly disappointed by green hill zone :mikulaugh3:

    @fujiwara i like going for more stuff if there’s extra content to be enjoyed. like, if a game would have a bunch of neat art and promo stuff, or like a model viewer? that’d be neat enough to make me want to work for it!

    but just for online gamer points…? eh, i don’t see the point. i guess i need a reason to go beyond? like, that’s not to say i won’t do side content (i like a lot of the goofy shit in yakuza), but i don’t do it for completion’s sake. i do it because i enjoy the game itself. :mikusmile:

    A coworker of mine literally had a heart attack and his supervisor came into my office to somehow make the whole situation about herself and how she basically "saved the day" by calling 911. I'm just worried about the guy but I can't get an answer about him from her...

    @fujiwara we stopped doing the open world shit halfway through. i kept protesting but sammy wanted to do it all…and then she got sick of it it lmao.

    chudley fuckin suuuuucks. i was so hoping that with the world being open, we could do neat quest-based overworld encounters with summons! but no—instead, we play simon says with button prompts and then fight them in his simulator. again.

    so boring :mikucry6: and god, the world is great in the main story beats—like, the cities and expanded characters are amazing. love them to bits! but the overworld just feels like a bullet point on the back of the box rather than an actual feature…

    @fujiwara jesus :mikuscared5: that was one of the reasons we moved up north—barely any tornadic weather. we had a tornado a good bit south of us earlier this year…there was one south of kalamazoo yesterday as well, apparently.

    last year there was one north of the city i think. it’s pretty chill up here, normally. :mikushrug: hopefully y’all stay safe!
