Lemmios is my favorite iOS Lemmy app so far, but I find that when I go to upvote a comment using the voting button next to the commenter’s username (top), I inadvertently collapse the comment....
Ok, so, for now, I added it to the menu so you can just tap and drag to the buttons (can also long-press the comment), but I’m not sure how I would implement the UI for it being on the bottom since it would make threads significantly longer, and for the right, I feel like long comments would mean a lot of empty space around them. If you have ideas of how it would fit well I would love to hear them.
Due to many people asking we now have T-shirts if you want to rock your Lemmios usage out around the world! Also just a very cool logo for people who don’t know it! Anyone buying this would be very appreciated!...
Ok added a toggle to settings (testflight only for now), but for now the default will be just showing the total, however if people really want the default can be changed.
So let me start this by thanking so many people for using Lemmios! But more people does come with some issues, I currently have 126 users on lemmy.world that have notifications enabled, which means enough requests that I am starting to hit their rate limits and a solution needs to be found. I have identified a few options:...
No, you might be thinking of the websockets that used to be supported but the API was overhauled since it was too taxing and the websocket endpoints have been removed
I don’t believe that Memmy has a solution, last I checked they just don’t support notifications on Lemmy.world cause they had about 2x the requests of the next highest api user and their IP got banned. (Details might be foggy I talked to Rudd like a week ago about this)
And yes I agree that oauth is definitely the solution, however for now at least with open source apps (and backends) it is possible to make sure that only the auth token (never passwords) is sent and that the backend only uses it for the right reasons. It is also important to mention that even with oauth the app would have to send the auth token to the backend (Apollo for Reddit did this for context).
From any post or comment in a community you moderate, you can easily ban a user with an optional expiry date and the ability to remove all content from that user!
I am thinking of adding live activities (similar to how apollo did), but it seems like it would be a fair bit of work and I want to judge how much the community wants it before I start the undertaking. Thanks for the input!
Definitely the TestFlight version, but that means (knowing me lol) that there will probably be a few more bugs in the new features that I am adding there
Oh yeah I totally get that but my issue is that’s the way my app worked and they were still denying it, I removed the “blur nsfw” setting from the settings view of users who had not enabled nsfw on the website and they finally accepted it so i won’t question anything now ig?
Yeah, I get it, it’s just frustrating that they wouldn’t tell me that’s what the actual issue was and they just kept giving me the code (5.2.1 or something) with no explanation of why it was broken in my app
Yeah, it is greatly improved with units and a better default value, and I wish it could be transparent but there is no pictrs API for max image size, that is an issue for the lemmy devs
Request: Option to change location of comment voting button(s)

Lemmios now has T-shirts available! (www.teepublic.com)

Lemmios is getting T-shirts! (lemmy.world)
Due to demand, I have submitted the designs to Cotton Bureau (the company Apollo used) so once it gets approved everyone will be able to order shirts!
Consider Supporting Default Vote Breakdown
I was using memmy because it used the default option for voting to show both up and downvotes separately....
Lemmios now has comment nuking and modlog viewing! (apps.apple.com)
Continuing on the train of adding moderation features, the two newest additions are the modlog:...
Notifications on lemmy.world

Lemmios (beta) now has more moderation abilities (banning)! (testflight.apple.com)
From any post or comment in a community you moderate, you can easily ban a user with an optional expiry date and the ability to remove all content from that user!
Lemmios Beta updates will now be announced on !lemmiosappbeta@lemmy.world
Beta updates are moving to !lemmiosappbeta to keep this community reserved for community polls and App Store updates
How valuable would live activities be for you?
I am thinking of adding live activities (similar to how apollo did), but it seems like it would be a fair bit of work and I want to judge how much the community wants it before I start the undertaking. Thanks for the input!
Tested Reminders
I just tested the new reminder feature. I set it to around 25 minutes into the future. However, it sent a notification 5 minutes later.
The Future of Lemmios (Update: On the App Store!)
Edit: We made it to the App Store!!!...
Which iOS apps support pict-rs?
Which iOS apps support pict-rs, Lemmy’s own image store backend, with compression if the iPhone camera image is too large?...
