rist097,

The international sponsor list is a list by Ukranian government, for all the companies that are doing business in Russia. Totally understandable move from their side of course. By actively sponsoring war effort, I think they are refering to the fact that they are paying taxes.

The title and the article is a bit misleading in some sense.

rist097,

Can you give me an article, because I could not find anything googling, maybe I didn’t put the right search terms. I found a website under the domain boycottrussia.info, but a website like this I can hardly consider objective. Keep in mind there is a lot of disinformation on the internet, and one should be careful using references from both the Russian and Ukranian governments and their allies.

Applying the same standard, should we boycott also all companies having business in Saudi Arabia, USA, and other countries that are involved in war efforts?

rist097,

Interesting project, I added it to the list. Well done!

rist097,

I don’t know how its in Catholic church, but in orthodox all animal products are forbidden during fast. I would assume its the same in Catholic, but I am not sure

rist097,

Gonna go to Lac Tanay tomorrow for a swim

rist097,

Nobody has AC in Switzerland 😂

rist097,

There is bunch of regulations that makes it hard to get permission to install it. People rarely have it in their homes. At commercial buidlings its more common.

Also it was not really neccessary in the past.

rist097,

Sadly USA was not charged for war crimes for using it in the past.

rist097,

Many countries are spewing propaganda bullshit, including and in majority coming from USA. I don’t think media channels from USA should be blocked.

Switzerland is doing the right thing, they never blocked any news channel or limiting freedom of speech in that way.

rist097,

Same could be said for USA. Because the person above mentioned China, Iran, North Korea blocking media for political reasons. I mentioned that EU countries are doing the same. We should not have double standards.

rist097,

USA is an openly imperialistic country also 😬 . Should we block all media from them?

rist097,

If france wants to ban american propaganda, I am sure no american will shed a tear lol

I strongly disagree. If they didn’t care they wouldn’t be buying media companies abroad.

Everyone agree that’s the state has authority over foreign bad actor speach. We are discussing here state censoring their own citizen’s peach which is highly problematic esp in so called “democracies”

Not everyone agrees. Allowing a government to decide who is a bad actor and ban the media is bad, that’s how countries fall into dictatorships and create narrative for their citizens. Just look at nazi Germany.

rist097,

The problem comes when you let the government decide what is “hate speech, racism, bigotry, fascism”. It gives government too much power to control the opposition by censorship.

rist097,

Can you open one of this websites?

rist097,

Not every country has the same law, the fact that the law exists doesn’t mean its a good law.

Its forbidden to mention nazi Germany? I guess we should just forget about it and let it happen again, because it hurts your argument.

rist097,

Including corporations, that’s why we are all on lemmy, is it not? 😉

rist097,

First of all, the USA is not the center of the world, the problems you guys have with mass shooting is not caused by the “hate speech”.

And again banning hate speech is just masking the deeper institutional/educational problems you have, not solving them.
