My favourite dj passed this week. Not only did I join threads on wednesday but I joined facebook to pay my respects. Amongst the tributes and youtube links I saw a banal query, asking what was your favourite social media? Mine was House music. The DiY crew forged the path my generation followed. A path of respect, kindness, attitude, enigma, ecstasy, depth, love. The bold audacity to create your own culture. I’ll write about it all more some time I’m sure, but not today. Rest in peace DK ✨

That familiar anxiety before the first zoom call of the week, as the todo list of hopes and side projects submerges under the familiar rat-a-tat of calendar invites and slack messages.

Sometimes my islands can be metaphors for our drowning earth sometimes its just me.
