unknowing8343,

Pocophone F1 was sold like crazy, at least in my country, and I just got my brother’s and I’ll be flashing it this weekend.

unknowing8343,

If you are not hosting, it having a repo on Github makes no difference. The server you are connecting to might have a different service running and you cannot know.

unknowing8343,

For a correct metric one must multiply the time since last update by the number of open issues

This article is somehow trying to defend the movie from the fact Furiosa looks worse than Fury Road. A lot worse, from what we have seen in the trailers. It was even pointed out by my SO who usually doesn’t realize this kind of things.

So I’m gonna take this as some bad publicity stunt.

unknowing8343,

I don’t think symbolic will solve your problem at all

unknowing8343,

Skate stuff. Could never do anything more difficult than a static, barely decent Ollie. And I was a teen, lots of free time, I spent hours and hours and hours for weeks and months. Nothing.

Effort is not everything.

I am so glad I had no money, because I really wanted to be better and if I had to learn the lesson later in life I would have tried to “fix” it with high quality gear.

unknowing8343,

Uninstall YouTube, and you’ll get your browser thingie. 😅.

You should be able to do to YouTube’s Android settings and revoke the rights to auto-open.

unknowing8343,

If you want to use your YouTube account (at your own risk) then Vanced is your option.

I recommend using a proxy, tho, and for me LibreTube is the best app currently out there.

You can make an account on a Piped instance (YouTube proxy) so you can sync-up subscriptions and all.

unknowing8343,

I wish Organic Maps had up-to-date maps. If there is any possibility for that please let me know!

unknowing8343,

Oh, I very much know that! But only on OsmAnd I can see those changes being applied a few hours later instead of a month later.

unknowing8343,

OsmAnd allows me to see changes in hours, for OrganicMaps I have to wait a full month.

unknowing8343,

Well, we need a better system then

unknowing8343,

Also, test your automations! Specially those critical. It’s very essy, you can virtually trigger them.

unknowing8343,

Parallel stuff is also used for… Well, some sequences you want to run in parallel.

unknowing8343, (edited )

Let’s say you have 2 scripts that do some stuff:

  • script A: turns a light pink for 20 seconds and then through a smart speaker you can hear 30 seconds of La Macarena.
  • script B: send 25 notifications to your phone, spaced by 30 seconds, in which each notification is a different letter of an encrypted message.

If you want those things to happen independently you must parallelize them.

So think about an automation that at a certain point you want to launch multiple scripts. I’d always parallelize, even if initially these scripts were “instantaneous”, because you might change these and add more complexities in the future.

unknowing8343,

The most important tool you can use, and this is no joke and even more crucial for a begginer is consistency.

And what I mean by it is that you have to show up. Doing it for a week is not enough. You gotta build the discipline.

My sources are:

  • Athlean-X: literally a gym coach. You’ll find many videos for begginers. He specially focuses on athleticism and not necessarily to be a giant croissant, which I really like. My goal is to look nice but also to be able to play some sports. Also lots of bodyweight resources.
  • Jeff Nippard: amazing evidence-based approach, but probably a bit too focused on becoming a giant croissant for my taste. Still watch him because you can learn A LOT from him.
  • Andrew Huberman’s podcast has some very interesting episodes on fitness, physical health, food… that might make your workouts and jogging sessions a bit more productive, with a very scientific approach.

Manual interventions in Arch are very very ralely needed. And most of the times they are needed… You don’t need to do shit because it’s about some weird legacy package you don’t have.

unknowing8343,

I am also thinking of starting an open source project, and honestly, will do it on Github, because so far, GitHub does not require microphone or location access, yadayada… And the AI thing would happen anyway. Do you think Google has not used GitHub repos for training Gemini?

I am very interested in syncing the repo with a federated git server, but from what I am reading Codeberg/Forgejo still don’t have federation working?

4 months durability for an $800 phone!

My old $200 Motorola G9 Power phone lasted almost 4 years with only very minor scratches. Obviously in that period I have dropped it a few times getting out of the car, where the phone sometimes work itself out of my pant pocket while I drive, and then it slips out when I get out of the car. But no problem on my previous phones,...

unknowing8343,

The dracut-systemdboot thing makes no sense. If you are installing Arch Linux, you have all options available? There is no “default” Arch, 😅

unknowing8343,

*GUI installer

unknowing8343,

I would say that does apply in the case of Endeavour OS but shouldn’t for a custom install with 100 % Arch+AUR packages.
