I was just watching DS9 and saw Tuco Salamanca being as intense as ever. I love spotting actors from other shows in these old episodes.

In "The Wounded," Captain Picard and the Enterprise are tasked with intercepting the USS Phoenix, commanded by Captain Benjamin Maxwell. Maxwell is destroying Cardassian ships and outposts, convinced that the Cardassians are preparing for another war....
The same swooping blue frame, the same diagonal branching timeline visualization, the same hub-and-spoke layout ... chef's kiss.
It is one of the most dire aspects of Star Trek Picard: a long-running ban (under "galactic treaty") that eliminates not only research into synthetic life, but appears to ban synthetic lifeforms themselves....
I spent the morning listening to the Fall Out Boy version of "We Didn't Start the Fire". Since Star Trek in the Kelvin timeline and elsewhere often re-uses songs from our time, I thought it would be hilarious if "We Didn't Start the Fire" ended up being updated every 35 years or so, till the 32nd century....

Star Trek's Federation has put Starfleet through a lot of uniform updates over the franchise's 55 years. A lot. Here's every major uniform change, all the way from Enterprise to Discovery's upcoming fourth season.
I'm curious to see how the show approaches the timeline implications of Una staying on the ship instead of getting locked up in a penal colony. I hope they throw in some tidbits about it, preferably as a running gag. For example, she ends up doing another enterprise bingo that Kirk admires or something. Maybe an episode where...
I want to live!...
Recently I was finishing Discovery S4 and at the same time listening to Star Trek Excelsior podcast S3. They both involved threats to the Federation home worlds. But I noticed that I was interested way more about what would happen next on Excelsior than I did about Discovery.
