Yeeeeeah. I was clearly just dicking about not thinking too much about which instance I should join, so I went with the one that had the most vanity-looking domain first, thinking it wouldn't matter all that much, seen that federation lets us reach beyond the instance's grasp anyway.
Affiliation matters and leaving a business card like that any place I'd like to contribute to a conversation is not something I first anticipated.
I don't know all too much about this service, either, other than that they're hosted in Germany whose data protection laws are amongst the most rigorous in the world.
But I guess there's no shame in realizing you might have knocked on the wrong the door and go to the next one. In the end, I just want to discuss and learn.
As in bounced off, how? As far as I could tell at least on their mobile site, deleting an account doesn't even seem like an option they offer.
I've jumped on the train to try it out and didn't think too much of it other than having a kind of vanity-looking domain in your user account, but yeah, reading more into them definitely has me trying to get rid of it.
