@ve7fim I worked on a product that formatted it's data-files in 80 column virtual punchcards.

When they moved the product from GCOS to Unix the datafiles stayed the same.

Look, I don't hate dogs. But... I think I might hate dog owners.

Is there some part of the social contract I'm not aware of that says it's totally fine to pick up your dog's shit in a bag and just chuck it into someone else's trash bin?

Especially if it's already been emptied and hasn't been brought in yet, so it's just sitting at the bottom of the can so that when it starts to rain it fills the bottom of my trash can with your dog's liquid shit? Honestly what the fuck?

The feature I want from a search engine is shared block lists that remove annoying sites from results. Put all the LLM content farms on that block list. Add all the recipe sites that don't have recipes. Include all the sites that sell me things instead of teaching me things.

Lower page rank for sites that have shopping carts or ads or trackers.

I will pay good money for a subscription to a search engine that helps me find pages I want to see instead of delivering me to sites as a consumer.

Ok therapy's not for another couple of weeks and I need to talk so!

My mental health has gotten SERIOUSLY better, rapidly, recently, and I'm still kinda trying to explain it (I don't need to, I just like to). There was a first wake up call before surgery, and I've been thriving as of surgery day+6 or so, when I regained full autonomy.

I've been spending a bunch of money on myself, the family, the apartment, going places, talking to people, re-organizing and cleaning a LOT... (1/n)

@fasterthanlime So glad you're doing well. This sounds incredible.

Something to remember about drugs is that sometimes they temporarily turn off parts of your brain that prevent you from getting the full effect of your work in therapy. Even if this was a case of a "magic drug" it wouldn't have worked if you hadn't put in the work...

    Forgive my bluntness, but I just do not understand who all these emails less than a week from RSA with, "want to meet the CEO of *insert ambiguous new cybersecurity startup??" appeal to. First of all, we've all been totally booked for months. Second of all, why would you want to go meet a random CEO unless you already had a business relationship? I get the party invites (though some are super late to the game this year) because that's a fun and somewhat appealing thing, but this one totally baffles me. I don't need to like go get their autograph like its Comic Con
