Read this verbatim transcript and tell me whether it’s from an escaped mental patient or the GOP nominee for the President of the United States.

“…I say what would happen if the boat sank from its weight and you’re in the boat and you have this tremendously powerful battery and the battery is now underwater and there’s a shark that’s approximately 10 yards over there. By the way, a lot of shark attacks lately. You notice that? A lot of shark. I watched some guys justifying it today. Well, they weren’t really that angry. They bit off the young ladies leg because of the fact that they were, they were not hungry, but they misunderstood what, who she was. These people are cray. He said there’s no problem with sharks they just didn’t really understand a young woman swimming. Now really got decimated and other people too. A lot of shark attacks. So I said, so there’s a shark 10 yards away from the boat. 10 yards over here. …

Quote

Here is a short summary of Donald Trump’s June 9 speech in Las Vegas:

  1. Tells crowd “I don't care about you. I just want your vote. I don't care.”

  2. Tells contractors who set up mic and teleprompter they did a “shitty job” and he “won’t pay them.”

  3. Tells audience to choose “suicide over Biden.”

  4. Complains about teleprompter again.

  5. Asks “Do I get electrocuted or do I jump over by the shark?”

  6. Claims he "aced" a dementia test twice: “Not easy to ace!”

  7. Says “There has never been people treated more horrifically than J6 hostages.”

  8. Calls prosecutor a “dumb son of a bitch.”

  9. Complains media is too focused on health of crowd in heat when they should “care about Trump.”

  10. Glitches multiple times.

  11. Speech ends. Trump whisked away on private jet paid for by donors.

“I Love Getting Even.” - by Jay Kuo - The Status Kuo

"Each of the interviewers threw him a softball: If you’re elected, you won’t really seek revenge on your enemies by prosecuting them right? All that talk of “I am your retribution” was just braggadocio, right?

Not a chance. Given the opportunity to walk back his threats of revenge, Trump stood firm. In fact, he doubled down and explained why revenge against his opponents might be an unfortunate necessity, as if he reluctantly would be required to exact it against those who have sought to hold him to account.

The fact that many of Trump’s allies in the media are trying to get him to soften his position—and that Trump appears unwilling to do so—is telling. Do they really believe Trump is other than who he says he is? "

White Collar s3e2 "where there's a will" is funnier than the typical episode (of the ones I've seen).

I'd like to quote the best bits of dialog, but I want to finish watching it first.

State Investigative Report On Trump Shows Complexity Of Alleged Mob Ties - Fast Company
https://www.fastcompany.com/3057495/state-investigative-report-on-trump-shows-complexity-of-alleged-mob-ties/

"Trump was first linked to organized crime in the 1980s, when a $7.8 million subcontract for Trump Plaza was awarded to S&A Concrete, which was partially owned by Salerno, the boss of the Genovese crime family, and Paul Castellano, the boss of the Gambino crime family who was later gunned down outside midtown Manhattan’s Sparks Steak House in 1985. In the 1986 federal indictment of Salerno, government prosecutors noted the company’s work on Trump Plaza.

Trump himself discussed the company’s notorious backers when he acknowledged that S&A Concrete was “supposedly associated with the mob” in a December 2015 interview with the Wall Street Journal. He emphasized that many other developers hired the company and he praised the quality of their work"

"If you follow MAGA for a living you’ll notice that many of them keeping talking about restoring America to a “Constitutional Republic.”

Not only is this straight from the Federalist Society I think it’s important for journalists and others to understand what it means if you run into it.

It means that Republicans have decided that the Constitutional amendments (13th ending slavery, 14th providing equal protection and due process to the states, and the 15th forcing the states to let Blacks vote) “ruined” America and should be repealed or otherwise invalidated using the federal courts."

"Flynn’s Lethal Alternate Reality Game - by Jim Stewartson"

I don't know if this guy is legit...

"Two weeks after I started investigating QAnon I wrote about how Q appeared to be modeled on alternate reality game techniques I helped to pioneer. I had the unusual skill set of being able to decode what was effectively a malevolent version of internet experiences I had previously built.

Nearly four years ago, I wrote that Flynn was going to “take control” of the QAnon movement, and laid out the themes he would use…"

James Comer Helped a Donor Get Chinese Hemp. It Ultimately Tested as Marijuana

"Rep. James Comer (R-KY) has for months used his power as House Oversight chair to assail Hunter Biden’s involvement in a failed business deal with a Chinese energy company.

But The Daily Beast has obtained emails and other documents showing that when Comer was running for governor of Kentucky, he himself was involved in a failed Chinese business deal. It involved importing Chinese hemp seeds through Comer’s office, when he was Kentucky’s agriculture commissioner, to benefit a campaign donor’s company that Comer had fast-tracked for his industrial hemp pilot program."

The “Originalist” Supreme Court vs Democracy

"The way you outline originalism’s rise is so plausible to me because it situates this story within the context of a broader counter-mobilization against the progressive changes of the 1950s and 60s. Inventing these legal theories and laundering them through legal academia is one dimension of this broader rightwing political project; another is the creation of an institutionalized conservative legal movement. And like you say, this also ties in with the grassroots mobilization of rightwing activists, and, by the 1990s, has managed to connect to, and take over, the power centers of conservative politics. We are not looking at separate stories coincidentally unfolding at the same time. We are dealing with a decades-long, multi-level effort to roll back the racial and social progress towards egalitarian democracy."

The “Originalist” Supreme Court vs Democracy

"In this crusade to entrench and maintain discriminatory hierarchies of race, gender, religion, and wealth, conservatives are deploying “originalism” as a key weapon to dismantle the civil rights order. They are trying to turn the clock back – as far back as to before the Reconstruction Amendments that were adopted after the Civil War – by repealing whatever racial and social progress they say is not in accordance with the Constitution’s “original public meaning,” not “deeply rooted in American history and tradition.” And somehow, they got much of the legal establishment, mainstream political discourse, and liberal America to accept “originalism” as a coherent intellectual project and the dominant philosophy of constitutional interpretation."

"Bombshell investigation discovers that at least nine witnesses in Trump's numerous criminal trials have received massive pay raises, expensive severance packages, job offers, and shares and cash from Trump’s media company.

And it gets so much worse...

ProPublica discovered the blatantly corrupt operations by digging through public disclosures, court records and securities filings.

They found that one campaign aide saw his pay double to $53,500 a month. Another employee received a staggering $2 million severance package that prevented him from voluntarily cooperating with law enforcement — an obvious bribe to buy their silence.

ProPublica reports that these payouts and perks could be evidence of witness tampering, although it may be hard to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Notably, the pay increases and other alleged bribes often came at times when the legal proceedings against Trump were particularly tenuous. …"

How United Sovereign Americans is Radicalizing an Anti-Voting Movement - Democracy Docket

"The strategy is to file as many lawsuits in as many states as possible, with the hope that at least one judge, somewhere, will rule in their favor, she told the Los Angeles Times.

“Marly Hornik has been quite open about what their stated goal is, which is essentially to create some sort of circuit split and get the Supreme Court to rule in their favor before the 2024 election,” Tulin noted. "

"1. Unless the SCOTUS agrees with Trump that POTUS can harm justices with impunity, Trump's two federal trials will likely continue. If it is reasonably unlikely that the trials can be completed before the election then Jack Smith should consider the following:
2. In DC. Trump engaged in an organized violent attempt to overthrow US Constitution by attacking with a violent force with elements that were well-armed and waiting orders in Virginia. Whiskey Rebellion and Shays Rebellion support charge of Treason under the levies war clause
3. and statutory treason charge. Trump is likely under court supervision throughout the election and the addition of pre-trial supervision for a capital offense will be of little additional restriction NY won't have already imposed. There will be time for pretrial proceedings
4. to address superseding indictment in DC"
