@jackyan I hate FB, but still have a need for it, mainly for groups (Cricut), and school info (my daughter’s school is of the opinion that parents live on FB). Any time I use it, I feel like I’ve just emerged from a ball pit. 🤣
@InayaShujaat It's a horrible site, complicit in genocide. When I sat on a school board, I was always trying to direct them to look at alternatives (e.g. their own website—at least the visitors there aren't bots) but without direct interference since my job was governance.
@jackyan I absolutely blasted a dean this year about the whole, “we put the info on FB the last minute, so why are you saying that you weren’t informed” issue we constantly have happening. I told this woman (who is our age!!) that social media is NOT the way to communicate with families. Email has worked fine for YEARS. Stick with what works.
@jackyan I HATE the school my daughter goes to, but she’s happy there. Teachers are wonderful, and all of her friends are there.
But the administration, school board, and parents assoc are all entitled, middle class white people who are so out of touch with reality that it pisses me off.
