I've been using Linux for 2 months and prefer it to windows now. What makes me sad is my uni laptop is windows and it needs to stay windows for the time being and every time I have to use it for anything other than watching movies it annoys me lol

I tried to print something off my laptop and it wasn't recognising my printer and told me to install the drivers again so I got fed up, turned my actual computer on even though its too hot to turn it on and managed to print without any issue.

Varyk,

Can you dual boot? I tried Linux and never went back a couple years ago, but I boot into windows exclusively for uncomplicated gaming. Been dual booting a couple years without an issue.

infosaturation,

Kinda jank but something you could do is get one of those physically tiny usb sticks and install linux on that. As long as it's a decent stick it should be fine. Since linux doesn't hammer the disk io like windows does it you barely notice it, at least I haven't the time I did that for like a month when my laptop's drive died and I didn't have a spare laptop drive lol. It's a bit fiddlier to do then installing it normally but still not too bad.

Sounds like you need a VM with windows installed for this one use case

bdiddy,

Throw virtual box on there and run Linux and just do everything in the VM
