I will be so glad when the flashback/flash forward/flashback fad of storytelling is over. Trying to watch “Manhunt”, and they can’t even be bothered to show the moments leading up to Lincoln’s assassination in order. It reeks of “the writing is weak — what can we do in the editing to spice things up?!”

I absolutely adored the first 2 seasons as they came out and wasn’t confident in how the third season would follow up. And tbh, the first half was somewhat underwhelming. The Zava stuff seemed pointless and it kinda felt like it was running on auto-pilot. But man, starting with the Amsterdam episode it was just banger after...
What is up with this new fad of blurring the edge of the frame on TV shows? Seeing it a lot on AppleTV, lately on Palm Royale. Is this the new “shaky cam”?

Surprising news. Have the networks figured out how to make daytime serials cheaply again? Have the demographics for broadcast tv shifted enough that there will be enough viewers?...
Got to thinking today about all the adult content that used to be on HBO and Cinemax — and wondered why we hadn’t heard any reports of Zaslav selling it all off to another studio/channel. I recently watched HBO’s The Time Travelers Wife full well knowing there was only one season. I think I mostly regret it. I loved the show, and knowing there won’t be any more to watch has bummed me out for the past week. I can’t remember feeling this way about any other show - it sucks.
I binged it on Netflix and am now starting on the new third season....

I’m watching Letterkenny all the way through again, which is WONDERFUL, and Somebody Somewhere which is also really enjoyable.

I have never had higher hopes for an adaptation than this show and been let down so bad that it just makes me want to re read the books. I had these really high hopes because of how the author was directly involved in the making of the show. What are y’all’s thoughts so far....
Depending on the discussion i may watch it.
Not because of the acting or even the political beliefs of the actors, but because something that was said in front of the camera offended a government agent who got the show axed.
