This meme isn’t funny at all, I agree. I sometimes struggle to get healthy options because the prices around me keep going up. I’ve switched to cheaper grocery stores, got good at cooking, buy store brands, but I have to keep saying “that’s too expensive now, better buy something cheaper”. I don’t eat a lot of processed food, but I also have a million other things to do each day, and though I’m skilled at cooking, I barely have the time. And, many people have it far harder than I do. A lot of people in this thread are too busy laughing at the shit joke to realize it’s punching down and blaming the poor for being poor.
The Republican Party’s war on itself has turned its inoperative House majority into a “clown show” and a “dysfunction caucus” and is handing wins to the Chinese Communist Party – and that’s just what some of its own members say about it....
What Biden has done is to cut the issuance of drilling leases to the minimum required by law, pass the Inflation Reduction Act, enact a regulation to force vehicle electrification, and similarly force fossil fuels out of most power plants....
And the shit about ceiling fans… Those new regulations are a win for everyone but shitty bootleg fan makers. No one is trying to “take their ceiling fans away,” this is about making them better and cheaper. But, of course they hate that, too. If Biden said, “stop running your A/C with all of your windows open,” Ted would complain about that next.
I’ll never forget the reason one boomer told me. They used to be a “leftist” hippy, but is now your typical conservative sucker. When I asked what happened to cause that change, I got the answer, “Just stopped caring about others.” That’s exaxtly the attitude you’re describing.
Edit: Seems the below statement was factually incorrect. Oops!
It’s a very obnoxious and heavy-handed approach to anti-piracy measures. It slows down games, kills framerates, gives users a whole host of other performance issues, and just makes the experience worse overall. It’s a product that doesn’t even seem to care to improve, because they make their money from publishers, not the people who buy and play the game. Many people hate it, and I believe it’s absolutely justified.
So, I went back and tried to look for a source, but you’re right. Thanks for informing me! From the few sources I read, those issues were debunked, exaggerated, or due to bad implementation. I want to add that I still don’t like the idea of Denuvo (or any other DRM) on digital media that I purchase, but that’s a different topic.
