If you ever used advice from “the Mask Nerd” (aka Aaron Collins) to select a mask, it may be a nice time to give him a toot of thanks and well wishes. He’s on Mastodon, and evidently had a bike accident that landed him in hospital. And true to his good nature and sense of humor, he just tooted a photo in his hospital bed…wearing a mask, of course. Aaron has selflessly tested hundreds of masks and shared his test results with the public. He may be why I’m a NOVID. @masknerd
A photo collage of 5 of the 25 fairy gardens nestled around the grounds of a local plant nursery. If you find all 25, and write their names down on a scavenger hunt map they provide, you get to pick out a free 4” flowering plant. Such a simple activity and fun for all ages. Featured in this collage is “Garden Party”, “Happy Camper”, “Shroom Shadows”, “Mojo Dojo Casa Garden”, and “Mushroom Manor.”
Wow, just learned the Stones are doing a 16-US-city tour in May-June of this year. Very cool. Saw them in 1981 at what was advertised as their farewell tour...lol. Here's a screenshot of their tour title and infamous lips logo from their website...check out the sponsor...AARP...lol!
Correction: Tour not just US...Canada too! And runs into July, not just through June.
Festive florals found on my afternoon walk along the river. Photo is a collage of four photos…a red hibiscus, dark pink oleander, russet orange bougainvillea growing alongside a coquina boulder, and a light purple Texas sage brush. Cheers! ❤️🩷🧡💜
@deewani Very interesting...glad you discovered what the effects were...ones to keep an eye out for sure! A cool local shop makes and sells their own dried hibiscus tea blend that I try from time to time. Good to know to use it judiciously.
@cfmccarthy Well I guess people are different and it affects some, not others. Probably beneficial for those with high BP. I shouldn’t have brewed it so strong and drank so much lol. Local small batch shops are the best. :)
Think this is a Brown Thrasher nesting in my thorny bougainvillea shrub. Zoomed in to get closeups to not disturb her or him. According to my Audubon Book Guide, both males and females sit with the eggs.
Oh no…MSNBC live reporting a person who just set themselves on fire outside of courthouse…they don’t have the camera on it. Unknown if connected to court proceeding.
Happy National Gardening Day! Photo of a few flowering plants on my front porch, along with a cute cobalt blue dog statute and a blue quirky glass bird. Cheers! 🌺🪴🐶🐤💙🌺 #nationalgardeningday
The husband of a childhood friend of mine passed away unexpectedly at age 57, and in a few minutes I’m heading to his viewing along with my sister and her husband. Not that I’m interested in viewing him, but I’m going to support a childhood friend. I don’t know what to say, but maybe it’s not about saying anything, other than just showing up.
@deewani@cfmccarthy Just got home, and glad I went. My friend was so appreciative of everyone being there. She had worked really hard pulling the viewing together, and it actually ended up including some laughs…and lots of love.
@cfmccarthy I am heartened that it went that way for you. Such days are draining. Hope you can rest. Old friends are the best, even with time and distance.
This sounds cool....a livestream of LightSound devices that during the April 8th eclipse will, "convert the brightness of the sun into sound as the light dims, providing a nonvisual way for people to experience the eclipse." @deewani Agree with all. Taylor-Joy was a joy in Dior. Speaking of Dior, I just got around to watching “The New Look” series on Apple+…I find Ben Mendelson’s portrayal of Dior particularly touching.
@cfmccarthy Ohh I didn’t know about that series. He is an amazing actor. The last “fashion”related things I watched were Cruella and the charming Mrs Harris Goes To Paris (and visits Dior).
