this Health record strikes @shannoncurtis and me as being like maybe a more intense Crosses. or perhaps a much more poppy Godflesh. there are strong elements of industrial, but it's more than that. it's brutal but gentle at the same time. and holy shit are the production and mix good. it's so massive and also so clean

highly highly recommended if you like heavy music 🏆💀

  • vocal destruction
  • i like to put it after a shitty short reverb (like korneff's also-excellent alesis microverb model) to make what sounds like a weird dense gated reverb; great for when you want a vocal to bulk up but don't want it to take up more space in the mix 🏆

make sure to find the secret knobs

@davecarter tape ranges from clean to thick to a bit dirty. i particularly like it on toms and synths, weirdly? wasted space is unlike any other reverb i have — closest probably to the alesis verb in terms of where it’s starting from as far as fidelity, but it’s got its own thing going on. it’s built to degrade.
