what do u reckon the average utilisation on those? and what % of that utilisation do u reckon is just like... adware spyware bullshit nobody actually wants?
they're such weird pieces of hardware. afaict they're more or less just graphics cards, fundamentally, except specialised for LLM-related computer instead of graphics-related computer.
but like... graphics cards caught on bc many people care about and use graphics. who is shopping around for PCs thinking "oh man i really hope the ai cores on this have good performance!!"
using linux will save u from microsoft recall, but only in the sense that microsoft's best engineers can't work out how to record your screen in wayland
@bcdavid oh don’t worry. in the same interview (the zoom ai clones one) he also said that ai hallucinations will be fixed “at the chip level”. unclear what this might mean.
it's a neat tool, gives you a lot of the benefits of one big volume, but without any kind of striping. so in the worst case of a disk completely failing, you only lose specific whole files that were on that disk.
