I’ve dabbled with disassemblers. they are not my friend. Although looking at that low level stuff is probably a good way to learn how to write efficient programs.
C is pretty much the only real option for embedded stuff. At least the white-space blocks of python allow the code a certain amount of enforced readability. To prove a point to someone I once wrote a section of code where I alternated space and tab for incremental blocks. I played with C# in visual studio once about a decade ago. I did not have a good experience with it. I should probably learn a little JS.
Good luck. When I graduated with a degree in computer engineering, recruiters and posts often equated computer and software engineering. Even now, the field I’m in has terminology arguments that I get caught up in; its a very software heavy field, and my focus is hardware/firmware. I’d ask if you want to work on my website, but there’s no money in it yet.
No front end yet, I’m really hoping somebody will want to help with that, but I would prefer as little JavaScript running as possible.
The only applicable language I already knew was Python, so I’m going with flask for the back end.
Currently the website just has a static page I generated with Jekyll.
The first post in question. I don’t know if I’ll finish it, but I have started to write it. I even went so far as to get a domain. It wasn’t my first choice, but its not bad. So any ideas, features, etc… are welcome, as is anybody that wants to help with it or advice for making it. I’m not quite ready to give out the...
and I will not be going. Its the time of year for the local convention. I’ve though about going a few times, but I probably wouldn’t talk to anyone, or go to anything, so I don’t see the point.
I mean, if I just want a change of scenery, I can just go for a hike or bikeride like I often do. If I’m going to spend money to go somewhere, I’d like to actually want to go.
I’ll say walking through to registration was interesting, and when I couldn’t register I was more disappointed than I thought I would be, especially because I wasn’t all that sure I wanted to go in the first place. I don’t think I would have done anything, but just being there was unique.
Just walking up to the hotel and through the lobby was interesting. I was more disappointed than I thought I would have been even though I didn’t really plan on going.
It was a nice day out, so I had a nice walk. It would have been nicer if there wasn’t an “unruly” passenger on the train ahead of mine causing a 10 min delay.
Hmmm, I though everything in that part of the world tries to kill you, or is that just restricted to Australia? The largest near me are the Joro spiders that moved in a few years ago.
What was your first programming language? What is/are your most used?
My first was Matlab. Most used is probably python, and then you get into my professional niche, VHDL, C, TCL.
How are you?
How are you doing? Anything you want to brag about? Rant about? Just shout into the void?
So I'm making a gallery website
