I need to write a Sass CSS keyframe tool that lets you create animations using seconds instead of %.

Today the CSS Working Group resolved to fix one of the gotchas with Container Queries and web components:

With this change, conditions in a slotted context can now query containers in the shadow DOM. 🥳

@simevidas @OddBird @anatudor We've already approved plans to make container units 'functional' - so you can pass in a container name. Could open an issue to extend that function so it accepts a layout box as well.

I updated my article about root containers container queries. At @OddBird we've found the simplest solution is:

  • no containment on root or body, since there are so many potential side effects
  • do contain all the top-level page elements: nav, header, main, footer etc

That provides some nearly top-level containers, while avoiding the issues. Have you run into this? How do you handle it?

Wait, I'm now (at least temporarily) maintaining my fourth Denver theater website, and only one of them is my own theater.

Someone please send help. I don't like working with WordPress – it's doing too much, and also not enough. But I also don't want to lock anyone into a fully custom solution. There has to be a better way.

I need the Theater CMS solution that only exists in my head, and I need it now.
