Make no mistake though, she is a victim here. Even if she may have profited off it the fact remains that she was groomed by a middle aged man while in high school and was extremely likely coerced into this relationship, either by offers or by threats or most likely some combination of both. A Faustian deal was struck here, where the opportunity for a regular loving family was given up in exchange for power, but it’s not clear to me how much choice was given to her in this deal.

I had a look at VaatiVidya’s video on this (many spoilers, you are warned) and while this all looks incredibly awesome, all I can think about seeing some of the new weapons are how these things are going to be an absolute menace in PvP. Specifically the >!beast claws.!<
Good thing I’m already trash at PvP and am used to losing, because it looks like we’re getting like 8 new variations on what made Rivers of Blood a meta pick. I’m not really that upset about it, PvP isn’t my main draw to elden ring and I am going to have a ton of fun with these new weapons in single player, so I consider it a net positive, but even so, yeesh.
Don’t let my people monopolize that accent! It’s a beautiful accent, in my opinion. Shame about most of the folks it’s attached to. Most people hear a southern drawl and their mind goes right to white supremacy rednecks, which is unfortunately not incorrect of them to think. This one has proven himself willing to perform crime despite the threat of prison, and has proven himself unwilling to rehabilitate. As you said, proven no capacity for contrition.
Therefore, the stated reason for prison would have next to no effect on this prisoner. He will not rehabilitate and has proven himself undeterred by threat of punishment. Ergo, sounds like an excellent target for the death penalty, in fact that sounds like the exact sort of person the death penalty was originally instated for. People too dangerous to be left alive that refuse to change their ways.
None of that involved my feelings about him, only facts about how he has acted under his own power. If we were basing this on my feelings about him we’d have been rid of him in 2015. It is a fact that he will perform crimes constantly and it is a fact that he has not shown a shred of remorse or reconciliation even once, ever.
