Struggling a bit with the disgusting news about #windows and the #Recall software. I am considering switching to @vanillaos, but it feels like a risk for some reason... Is it worth the trouble of switching?

@tokenizer What I can tell you is that Orchid (v2) is about to be released, our team has been working on it for more than a year now and the beta tested are predominantly happy about it. The docs is poor but our team is also organising for that, to ensure that on day 0 of orchid it is useable and satisfying for everyone. Regarding security, I don’t know if it helps, but the project is supported by fabricators ltd, an Italian company active in open source and financier of the Bottles project.

@tokenizer Another aspect that maybe can help you is knowing that starting with Orchid updates will be handled differently. If kinetic (22.10) has entered after about a year of maintenance only, the plans for Orchid are to offer constant updates albeit with point release in case of major upgrades.
