BourbonLaser,

My family has a recipe that uses it to make the sauce creamy and delicious as others have mentioned. It's super quick and easy to make since it's mostly canned foods. It may not be gourmet, but it is definitely comfort food in a pinch. It's called Tallarine.

1lb ground beef
1/2 medium onion diced
2 cloves garlic... or more
1 can stewed italian tomatoes (sometimes I add a can of spicy peppers like jalapeño to be more like a Mexican dish)
1 small can of sliced mushrooms (I usually leave these out)
1 can whole kernel sweet corn
1 small can sliced black olives
1-2c uncooked egg noodles depending on how noodly you like to get
4 slices American Cheese

Brown the beef with onion and garlic. I usually throw in some salt and pepper here. Add all other ingredients except the cheese. Add some water of it's too dry. Cover and cook until the noodles are tp your preference. Add the cheese and stir until melted and mixed.

Haters gonna hate American Cheese "Product", but it can sure make some tasty dishes.

BourbonLaser,

Is this a Canadian thing? I didn't know about this until I dated a Canadian girl. Not for me, but she swore by it.

BourbonLaser,

@Nessussus that's great insight. I recall reading a paper about using magnetic fields to enhance performance of some EV battery cells.

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S2211285521009538

There is so much research into new, innovative ways, to build a better battery and increase performance. I have no doubt that the total carbon footprint of EVs will continue to decrease. Smaller batteries, lighter weight, increased range, faster charging. All good things.

Can you recommend any relevant papers about EV battery recycling? I'd be interested to learn more about that process.

BourbonLaser,

We have programs where I live that enable you to have 100% of your electricity use covered by renewable sources without needing to install solar on your home or build a wind turbine. The fossil fuel plants may ultimately be where the exact energy being used is generated currently, but the added costs enable further investment in renewable infrastructure and the individual use is fully offset by renewable generation elsewhere.

I encourage anyone that's environmentally conscious but doesn't think they have an path to accessing green energy sources to research similar programs with their energy provider.

BourbonLaser,

I can't speak to the legality, but it sure sounds like they violated the terms and agreement in place with AP repeatedly. I wonder what recourse AP has and if they could choose to disallow their content entirely on Fox? It seems like most news organizations get a majority of reporting from AP. I can only imagine the detrimental impact to Fox News if that came to pass.

BourbonLaser,

Is there something similar to the gas tank arrow on EVs? I never thought about it, but the charge ports are all over the place.

BourbonLaser,

Am I alone in not liking the matte trend? I prefer the pearl finish with a more interesting color than black, grey, silver, or white. Give me a nice, blue, red, orange, yellow, green. Anything but the dull colors.

Love the GT-R, but fancy the blue pearl over this any day.

BourbonLaser,

Time to make a White Russian. Where's my bathrobe and flip flops? This is an ad campaign I could get behind.

When introducing members to kbin/lemmy don't mention the fediverse!

I introduced kbin to someone today who asked what the fediverse was. I answered for them of course, but it made me realize that the concept is still technobabble for most people. The average joe probably doesn't care or notice that server A is really talking to server B. Just have them find out on their own and if a mass...

BourbonLaser,

If a new thread is made in asklemmy@lemmy.ml via kbin.social while the connection is broken, will the new thread ultimately populate for viewers of asklemmy@lemmy.ml when the connection is restored?

I'm envisioning two threads of the same name/subject posted by different users in different instances. Parallel discussions that happen in silos. When the walls are torn down, will those discussions be side by side in the timeline or will all the 'new' outdated content incoming from kbin.social overtake the current content?
