@virtulis it would be an account for my games studio so having it on the biggest server would theoretically afford the most security. My personal account is already on a very small instance

@noelfb trying to figure out where to put my studio's account and people said stuff like "servers defederate from mastodon social due to spam and poor modding" so I wanted to see how much of a problem it actually is

@virtulis I think I saw an instance die just the other day due to corruption from a bad upgrade. I don't believe that would happen on mastodon.social because of its size and the investment in it. Yeah my current account is doing fine but I have enough invested now it's making me nervous. Social media is how I reach people about what I make and that's how I eat and stay housed. I can't afford to casually fuck around with this stuff if mastodon is my main way to reach people, which it is by an order of magnitude

Please don't argue with me in my mentions that I should just pick a small server and assume everything will work out. Fedi is now the main way by which I can reach people about the stuff I make, which coincidentally is how I stay housed and fed. I can't afford to be blasé about risks to not only my own livelihood but also people on my team who rely on me being able to promote the things they're working on

You may not like mastodon.social but if I put an account there I can basically trust some random mishap isn't going to permanently wipe it out and ruin my whole life, way more than most other servers

And having said that, my personal account, the one that, you know, actually exists, is already on a small server and it has almost 9k followers. If something happened to this account right now I'd be completely fucked. So maybe for my studio account I want better insurance

i've been happily using fedi for a year and a half now. i wonder if it's time to establish a kitsune games account on some server somewhere 🤔 i know not everyone who wants to follow our games wants to follow me and deal with me being perpetually on my bullshit

not sure what instance to put it on. i wanna put it somewhere else than pmg because i don't want all my eggs on one instance. there's gamedev.place, gamedev.lgbt, but i feel like i should probably also consider mastodon.social since it seems like the safe option

@gabrielesvelto actually there are a lot that seem to presuppose you already know what the game is and they barely show you gameplay OR story, it's baffling!

@gabrielesvelto i just saw one that just scrolled a bunch of screenshots across a background of a map and there were several rows of these at a time so your eye has nothing to focus on, you don't pick up anything, and the actual screenshots are too small to really make anything out even if you really try

first day of break and we ordered in a big lunch from a cypriot restaurant. and it was super cheap cause of a deal to try a random restaurant on the service we hadn't tried before

fries arrived soggy but nothing a quick zap in the airfryer couldn't fix and i got half a chicken that was seasoned nicely and fall off the bone tender. nothing amazing but it was nice to have a meal that i didn't have to cook myself first

Do not understand why people always use bloated third party json libraries and then complain about it when I've seen people using pico 8 create json (de)serializers in like 15 lines of code
