Glad to see that Saudi Arabia scrambled their jets to help defend U.S. interests in the region and the strong statement made by Jordan. Hopefully Netanyahu doesn't try to escalate off of this response from their escalation in an attempt to create a more kinetic regional conflict, but no telling with that asshole.

I'm posting this screenshot of Steve Herman's post, because the article itself is in Hebrew.

As soon as Israel holds elections, Netanyahu will be voted out of office, and I think he'll go to prison. He needs a big war, to stop the demonstrations and prevent elections. I think that's why he attacked Iran's consulate in Damascus in the first place, no? He was deliberately attempting to incite a major war. Escalation is his only move.

Yeah distinct possibility of that for sure. I was so mad at Israelis when they let him win yet another election, but I'm sure that the Russian disinformation and political technology must be rampant there as bad as here.

I have no idea how we have many options to extricate ourselves (meaning liberal democracies) from this situation that Putin and the FSB has managed to put us into.

Maybe the Pentagon/Langley has woken up to the threat and is working on something.

Unfortunately, I think most of America's intelligence and national security communities are no longer loyal to the United States. That's certainly true of virtually all of the FBI; they're loyal to the Republican Party now, and would gladly go to war against the United States on the GOP's behalf.

In retrospect, once we allowed Putin to conquer the White House, and then imposed zero consequences on his co-conspirators, there was never going to be an easy path back to sovereignty.

The dearth of liberals working in our government in national security roles makes me nervous as well.

Because I know how hard it is to bring successful prosecutions under our slanted legal system are though I'm not a Garland basher in relation to indictments. Regardless, it's up to the voters in a democracy to protect the republic when you get right down to it.
