stoicandanxious,

Just another app point of data: Racoon For Lemmy still works with 18.4. It’s been my favorite lemmy app since starting to use it.

Beegzoidberg,

Update: I’ve moved back to Jerboa.

Templa,

Are you having issues with the last Jerboa update? I am getting a lot of errors and don’t know if it is related to this

Beegzoidberg,

I’m not! Good luck sorting it out, you may want to try reinstalling the app

Chimaeratorian, (edited )

FWIW I have the Voyager PWA installed on my phone and despite daily messages that support ended two days ago, I can still browse Lemmy. I don’t plan on updating, in case that is what finally breaks it.

edit: as of March 22, Voyager stopped showing me content on any server with 18.x software, including my login credentials, which I can only assume means it is useless for browsing Lemmy. Edited with Memmy on iOS.

survivalmachine,

I just moved to Thunder and it seems pretty cool, but a different layout from what I’m used to with Voyager. I might give Eternity a try, too, but this one looks good.

UPDATE: Raccoon it is. I gave Thunder a try, but figured I’d also try Raccoon and Eternity. Raccoon just feels right.

GammaGames,

Damn, voyager is a big reason I’m even on lemmy. Guess I’ll have to find a replacement or something.

renard_roux,

Heartbreaking, Voyager just keeps getting better and better, and has the best UI of any Lemmy client by a wide mile 😭

Trying to figure out if it’s possible to run an older version of a PWA, skirt the problem that way, but not holding my breath. I’ll be siding with BeeHaw here, don’t really have a use for the software if there’s no community to access 😓

admin,

We won’t be upgrading past 0.18.4…Please find another app.

I use jerboa so I’m not affected afaik but I’m curious why the uncertainty about update, they are (generally) a good thing for performance and security. Have there been issues before?

Kissaki,

The 0.19.0 release was horrendous and completely broke a lot of things. Again. It wasn’t the first significant breakage on a feature release. It happened before.

0.19.1 attempted to fix things, but didn’t. Now we’re on 0.19.2, which at least isn’t completely broken anymore.

It’s certainly, evidently not only about or for performance and security.

I can’t say anything about the current state though, or why beehaw administration decides against it. Other instances I am using are on more recent 0.19 and work fine.

0.19.3 has been good for a long time though

admin,

We’re focusing on leaving Lemmy for another platform that supports federation.
