Noteworthy that this was not an UNRWA number but the first international UN worker.

The Israeli military said an initial inquiry indicated the vehicle was struck in an active combat zone and it had not been made aware of its route.

From the Wapo article about this:

Haq confirmed that Kale was the first international U.N. casualty since the beginning of the conflict on Oct 7. He added that “we inform the Israeli side of the movement of all our convoys. They are all clearly marked U.N. vehicles.”

Also speaks volumes that whenever a UN vehicle gets attacked nobody even suspects Hamas anymore. It’s israel every. single. time.

So you’re saying that Hamas may have specifically targeted a UN vehicle, something they’ve never been found to have done since Oct 7?

A quick reminder that the IDF has been found to have targeted clearly labelled NGO vehicles, killing people who were simply trying to feed Palestinians.

To me, the wording of the Israeli statement implies it was them, though of course it’s not 100% certain. If they had even the flimsiest proof to pin it on Hamas they would go public with it immediately.
