@OutofPrintArchive@mstdn.games

Hi there, my name is Andy, I'm from Belgium.
I spend most of my free time digitising and restoring classic video game magazines, mostly from the UK.
I've been doing this for nearly 20 years now and I'm here to share my passion for these magazines with others.
I love to read and talk about gaming memories from years gone by.

My main hobbies are gaming, both modern and retro gaming, as well as Japanese, South Korean and classic Hong Kong cinema.

Oh no! What is the world coming to when rich fucks are held to like 1% accountability as what the rest of us face when we do bad shit?!

The humanity!

I have a folder named "Downloads" where I keep all the stuff I download and I'm using so I don't forget.

Inside that folder, there is one named "old downloads" where previous downloads from my old laptop are stored.

Inside that folder... no, I don't want to think about how deep that rabbit hole goes.

And after a while, these get too big, so you move them over to an external HDD, only for a certain amount of time to pass where you go though the same routine again and end up with a bunch of "download" folders on various drives. 😅

Yet once in a blue moon these come in handy.

I remember a couple of years ago, someone was looking for a specific video of Takenobu Mitsuyoshi in a Santa suit singing the Burning Rangers song, which had been wiped from the internet years prior.

I knew I had saved it once, so after teaching through something like 25 external drives, I actually found it and reuploaded it. That person couldn't believe it. 😊

@splendorr

These always are a great glimpse back into the past, aren't they?
It helps ground the games in a specific period in time and provide quite a bit of side context to it all.
Bringing back quite a few memories that you hadn't recalled in decades.

This was one of the original images that made me take notice and go "what is going on here???" 😂

I think many of us can identify with this at this point. 😅

Reminds me a little bit about that dad in a certain Dreamcast magazine in a feature about hardware peripherals.
I wish I could pinpoint that one...

Ah, I don't remember that one.

I did have the one on Super Nintendo though.
And I remember playing the arcade beat em up back in the day, which was super fun.
Such a shame it never got a home port.

As a big Monster Hunter fan, I was quite disappointed with the new trailer at State of Play.
It really felt off to me, not just from a gameplay standpoint as there was very little shown, and what was just looked weird.
But also from the world itself, which looks incredible drab. Tons of browns and greys...

But watching the new Gaijin Hunter video with a lot more context makes me feel a lot better about it now.

Haha, that sounds incredible!
It's such a shame that nowadays when they try to create asymmetric multiplayer games, they mostly seem to end up being really disappointing on just a mess.
