Probably the best question I have received from a colleague at at our law firm in the almost 15 yrs I have been working here.

Rosey,
@Rosey@shakedown.social avatar

@mrcompletely @velvetseawader When you think about it, JRAD might be “The Jam Band You Want, Not the Jam Band You Need”

Rosey,
@Rosey@shakedown.social avatar

@mrcompletely @drummmerandy @velvetseawader isn’t the TC classic motto the opposite of what I wrote for JRAD? I hope so.

Before I boost this next thing, I would like to note how incredibly NSFW it is, in the sense of containing many highly explicit horny pictures. It's very funny, or was for a long time. So don't click if you're not interested in centaur-fucking jokes that depict actual fucking etc. Okay? Great.

But it's hilarious

EDIT: it has been brought to my attention that centaurs are one of the mythical beasts not yet fucked in Oglaf. Anyone disappointed by that oversight is entitled to a full refund.

Rosey,
@Rosey@shakedown.social avatar

@LostReflector @mrcompletely Scrolled around, did not see a centaur. Was a little disappointed. Realized there is a search function. Searched “centaur.” Deepening disappointment.

New show to circulation. Very high quality. The earliest clean DGQ tape there is. A hot one for fans of and Dawg (which touches on )

Dawg, Tony and the fellas are en fuego here. This is from before the album came out.

No one wants to talk about this because it all worked out due to being an incredible band and Derek being one of the best guitarists on the planet, but I wouldn’t be upset if Jack Smith filed charges over not playing an Allmans or Dominos tune last night.

Rosey,
@Rosey@shakedown.social avatar

@chopaganda Golden Age is a Tier 5 song for that pairing but they made it great. If they had played Blue Sky, I would have melted.

Making up a batch of homemade record cleaning fluid today for the Knosti cleaner. Isopropyl alcohol 20%, distilled water 80% with a few drops of Kodak photo flow! Does a great job. @vinylrecords

Joey Fatone covering Butter Rum at a day time show at Epcot yesterday is too hilarious to me I simply cannot deal with it. All arguments about that band now end when the Fatone card is played. Don't try to own it or rationalize it goslings. This is top tier hilarity.

On my phone so can't add the time stamp so I will just say go to the 1:00:11 mark in this video. Fittingly, it is right after Sweet Caroline.

Bobbi Humphrey - Satin Doll. This record came (sealed) as an “also included” item in an eBay purchase. Knew nothing about it. I have since learned it is FANTASTIC. Sounds like a movie soundtrack from a very particular era of 70s cop films. Think flute jams, muscle cars, and a morally lenient plainclothes detective putting that magnetic siren on the roof of his sedan before the big chase scene.

@caravan I’ve known him since early 90s when he taped tons of Slip shows (my local Providence jam band in HS). Good dude, nice equipment, and he’s still putting out great content.

in a Capitol Theater shirt in "my friend's attic" playing a practice guitar (?) from the late 70s (I think it's from 1976). Second image is a different print or cropping of the same shot with lots of great details on the table. Is that Kidd Candelario guarding the Briefcase of Infinite Felonies? Contradictory labels place this in either California or New Jersey lol

Posted on Zuckbook by oldschool Cap Theater employee Don Gaess. Thanks to @Nak550 for the pointer

The second photo, zoomed out from the first, with a second figure sitting at a table in the foreground, smoking a cigarette or joint, arm resting on a briefcase, with a variety of objects scattered on the table including a strainer and a cassette tape

This “greatest American rock band if it isn’t the Grateful Dead” thing is going around in the old place. Something I think about a lot, but I do feel pretty strongly that it’s .

This says less about Phish as a band than it does of America for primarily producing individual solo acts, rather than celebrating collectives.

Tom Petty AND the Heartbreakers, Bruce Springsteen AND the E Street Band, George Clinton AND Parliament. Sly AND the Family Stone.

I've been listening to a lot of live #Prince recently and among many takeaways I'm wrapping my head around is confirmation of what I've long suspected - to my ear he was the greatest electric rhythm guitar player there's ever been. He was also an astonishing lead player in the post-Hendrix blues rock style of course, but his time sense was so ideal, so razor edged sharp that it could make an atomic clock feel sloppy, and of course his feel for funk and swing accents was quite literally perfect

Rosey,
@Rosey@shakedown.social avatar

@mrcompletely @Stoneycase I’m down. Looking forward to the next one.
