Sarmyth,

The post makes it seem like these 2 things are connected when they aren’t. These events are over 400 miles away from each other. If this was the east coast they would be 2 states away from each other.

Besides if you were a mob killing a queer man you don’t play that off like a suicide. It would be a slur tagged nearby to send a message.

Now would I believe a gay man would really create a scene for their suicide? Yes. 💯

It’s still sad, but far fetched to relate the 2 events.

Sarmyth,

The QR code in the corner link to a site selling a better resolution version for $4.99. Made me sad. I actually thought I’d be able to read it. Oh well.

Sarmyth,

There’s a Tesla plant that employed many people and they used to get a good discount. The infrastructure is also much better for owning an electric car in the bay area so people bought early when there were fewer options and less complaints.

This also makes it way more affordable as there is a really robust inventory of used Tesla cars as well so it’s more like $10k instead of $40k in many instances.

Sarmyth,

They sure do! And it’s outrageously expensive.

South Dakota governor, a potential Trump running mate, writes in new book about killing her dog (apnews.com)

The Guardian obtained a copy of Noem’s soon-to-be released book, “No Going Back: The Truth on What’s Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward.” In it, she tells the story of the ill-fated Cricket, a 14-month-old wirehaired pointer she was training for pheasant hunting....

Sarmyth,

The quoted text from the article says she was coming back from training the dog for pheasant hunting. Seems a safe bet she shot it.

Sarmyth,

Sounds like it’s functioning as a means of reducing the development of type 2 diabetes. Mission failed successfully?

Sarmyth,

This could be just like that. If it is more harmful than it is already known to be, then the widespread adoption should highlight that faster.

If there are supply issues, as others have mentioned, widespread adoption and profitability will hopefully cause an increase in production.

It would have to be pretty bad for you to be worse than the detrimental health effects of being 300lbs+

When will this lie stop? People never shut the fuck up about this conflict in the west. There are endless protests and the media repeats that Isreal needs to stop every day.

And yet all day, every day, on Lemmy people cry about the west not caring or writing about it or shilling for Isreal. It’s just delusional bordering on dishonest at this point.

Sarmyth,

I am not. I meant exactly what I said and I’d thank you to not make shit up and pretend I meant something else. The US government is made up of many many people who vocalize their disagreement with Isreal and have called it a genocide.

The Associated Press, the media organization this post is from is an American non-profit based in New York. Easily half the articles run in the US are rehashed AP articles.

Sarmyth,

Honest reviews prevent bad reviews from others and returns. They should be embraced for what they are and a blueprint for what you’ve done well and where there is room for improvement.

Sarmyth,

To an American, none of these people (Israelis, Iranians, Palestinians) are white. I don’t know why it even got brought up alongside select headlines of the day.

Sarmyth,

Yeah not in most of America.

I’ve also not yet personally met a person that equates an American Jew with an Israeli.

In all honesty, every American Jew I know has always made fun of Israelis as a kind of “other”. Like how Americans make fun of the British. There’s a relationship there but you’re not the same.

Israelis are middle easterners, and no middle easterners are white to an American. That doesn’t mean we don’t pick sides like we did with Saddam… twice.

Sarmyth,

I think an interesting side effect would be the massive reduction of houses being bought as rental properties. If you had no real way to cover a mortgage or even some of the absurd property taxes with the rent you could get, your wouldn’t invest unless you really believe in the area or are buying to fix and sell.

It would basically tank the housing market and put everyone who owns a house with a mortgage under water. Would suck for me, and I’m not a landlord.

Sarmyth,

He should be removed from office. He is not well.

Sarmyth,

Perfect. This all tracks. We knew it wouldn’t be anyone actually expecting the money back, but would be expecting favors in return. I guess I’m just glad it’s not another oligarch.

It was always gonna be corruption adjacent at the minimum. Let it be one of our crooks at least.

Sarmyth,

The funny thing about using In-n-out as an example for this is they were already paying over $20/hour in much of California. The mandatory wage increase would impact them least of all.

Sarmyth,

I feel like the poster didn’t mean to infer American capitalism is so great we need a wall to slow people down from entering while communism is so shitty they need a wall to prevent people from escaping.

It’s a strangely pro American capitalism meme for lemmy.

Sarmyth,

“Whose” should probably be “thats”. But a native English speaker will occasionally personify things and so the meaning would be the same, but you are correct.

Sarmyth,

Maybe tattoo’s for the people that keep misplacing their patches.

Revealed: a California city is training AI to spot homeless encampments (www.theguardian.com)

Last July, San Jose issued an open invitation to technology companies to mount cameras on a municipal vehicle that began periodically driving through the city’s district 10 in December, collecting footage of the streets and public spaces. The images are fed into computer vision software and used to train the companies’...

Sarmyth,

Yes and no. San Jose has many many programs to assist the homeless, but some of them are dying in the creeks with flooding. We also have relatively new initiatives for reporting encampment to outreach groups instead of the police.

Not everywhere is a safe place for someone to settle. It’s one thing to have a person spend the night somewhere, but services like these may help identify encampments that are establishing in areas at risk of flooding etc before they get too entrenched.

Sarmyth,

This is correct. Once it’s developed, it’s just following instructions.

Sarmyth,

They got bait and switched is my understanding. The game they played included the content from the micro transactions without them being informed they weren’t part of the base game.

Sarmyth,

It seems you don’t have time to be online then. Go do what you have to do and come back when you have the free time.

Don’t make silly demands like you’re too busy and are owed a dumbing down of old news.
