bojanland,

@metin is it a coincidence that 911 is displayed on that startup screen of Commodore 64? Was this perhaps a subtle hint that the developers needed help? Was this an indication of the future events? Was this a secret message? They could have designed the ROMs for any number to appear. I don't believe it's coincidental.

🚨NEWS: Boeing/Spirit execs paid themselves $800 MILLION & spent $68 BILLION on dividends/buybacks - while laying off workers & refusing safety investments experts say were necessary.

One year of buybacks was more than the estimated cost of key safety upgrades. https://www.levernews.com/profits-and-payouts-over-passenger_safety/

bojanland,

@davidsirota to protest simply don't fly. it's that easy. you can either support them by flying or not. You have a choice. NOthing wrong with traveling within your own nations.

deweyritten, to random

Got lowkey harrassed by a creepy dude who at the top of his lungs called me cougar mouth.

yea, cougar mouth.

bojanland,

@deweyritten and why do I have to know about this person and their choice of words? Wouldn't it have been ideal if I didn't know they existed even?

bojanland,

@deweyritten I know idiots exist. That's not what I meant. Sorry if it came off wrong :)

bojanland, to firefox

Do you enjoy our new Internet ? I find the whole cookies agreements thing useless. It would be ideal if @firefox could allow a "Accept All COokies" button in the settings and so it automatically answers this question for me. I don't care who has my cookies. I really don't. Honestly.

bojanland,

@taladar I don't understand.

bojanland,

@Observer1199 yes that's right boss, I'm the reason. Me! Thanks for noticing the real reason.

@funcrunch @tehstu @textfiles and how do you decide whom to block over an edit war? The second person who insists to revert? THe first person who made the original edit? Both of them? To the principle's office!!! Ridiculous. Boring. Bad design.

The song Let's Fly by Anders Enger Jensen and Gina gives me motivation when I'm at my lowest most saddest point. Well not saddest, most useless feeling. For example I planned all day to write music for 3 hours in . But now that I am home I told myself "It's okay, you're not a musician, just surf the web". But that's the wrong attitude. I am a musician, albeit not a profitable one. Still I enjoy playing with sounds and experimenting with synths and drum loops. That's all that matters. 🎶

bojanland,

@SabiLewSounds I feel the best when I am creating something, such as art. Or when playing sports. Especially when doing Tai Chi or exercising.

Last month @gabek spoke to the attendees of @ubuntu Summit in Riga, Latvia, about Owncast and how live video streaming works.

I can’t promise it’s the most entertaining thing you’ll watch all day, but if you’re into , or even streaming video in general, you might get something from it.

Enjoy!

https://youtu.be/sZMEuKI4Lpo?si=IJxyN86dRvimg4Je

bojanland,

@owncast @gabek @ubuntu I am at a loss. I can't even imagine how someone like me could possibly use Owncast? For example, I might like to stream my music making process in . So I setup OBS to connect to Owncast somehow, but then what? I can't support 1,000 viewers on my residential ISP service. Is there a free content delivery network? Can be paired with something like that?

bojanland,

@owncast didn't even think to check. Thank you for the reminder. Hahaha I'll read up on this. Thanks kindly!

My political beliefs? I want a multi party system where social democracy is the most right wing party.

bojanland,

@anubis2814 I don't want any politics in my nation. None whatsoever. All politicians are liars. All of them in all party types.

bojanland,

@anubis2814 Why would I automatically be an anarchist? That question makes no sense. Great cultures can exist without politicians in the mix. Sane and kind people can govern themselves just fine.

bojanland,

@anubis2814 Don't mind me asking, but if you've never heard of it, does that mean it doesn't exist?

bojanland,

@anubis2814 Why must a system have a name? Why can't you think up a system that would be better all by yourself? Why must someone else do all the work? Why can't we just help our neighbours and thus improve the whole world one friendship at a time? This simple system is called kindness.

bojanland,

@anubis2814 I'm sorry but I can not answer your questions. I have explained what I know and I feel it is adequate for you to begin improving things wherever you are and under whatever system you are. :)

My BlueSCSI Wi-Fi Desk Accessory for System 6+ is now available:

https://jcs.org/bluescsi

It lets you view your current network name and signal strength, and change networks on the fly without having to edit your BlueSCSI configuration

Perfect for taking your 68k PowerBook to the coffee shop (but who would do such a thing?)

bojanland,

@jcs I love seeing software for older machines still developed. Thanks for ensuring people still have some choice with some machines. tends to eliminate choices, especially Microsoft is notorious for doing this.

Periodic reminder that a place that is safe for white trans people, but is not safe for Black trans people, is not a "safe space for trans people."

bojanland,

@mekkaokereke I don't know why "safe spaces" are so difficult to create. I mean if most people are "normal" and kind and gentle with each other then safe spaces should be everywhere right? But if the world is full of mostly mentally challenged people who are into violence and hate then safe spaces would be rare.

"the World Bank predicts that climate change will compel as many as 216 million people to move elsewhere in their countries by 2050; other reports suggest that more than one billion people will become refugees because of the impacts of a warming planet on developing countries"

We have somehow to find homes for that billion people. How many can your community welcome?

https://www.noemamag.com/the-bold-idea-to-move-millions-to-climate-havens/

bojanland,

@simon_brooke Why wouldn't it work? That's exactly how the vast majority if not all of humanity lives. They build in their own homes paradise from tech and books and carpets and furniture and they ignore their neighbours, they ignore the homeless, they ignore the disabled and the elderly and they just enjoy life in their own homes like the whole world doesn't matter. Why wouldn't our leaders enact the exact same policies as we all do in our own lives?

noizpride, to random

I live across the street from 2 homeless encampments and I want to post this over every inch of my apartment

bojanland,

@tshirtman @noizpride The presence, the simple presence, of a living human being is ALWAYS a plus for any neighbourhood. Claiming that someonoe's socio-economic status can lower the value is utterly a terrorist claim and perhaps even an act on their life. Homeless people can be anyone, homelessness can affect anyone at any stage of life. Life is precious and we should be caring for each other. That's why the greatest advice I ever read was "Help Thy Neighbour"

bojanland,

@tshirtman @noizpride what a severe social disorder it must be to NOT want to see other people and moving away to where one is secluded... geez...

bojanland,

@tshirtman @noizpride Yeah I can only see all that as a disorder. When I had a great tech job in my 20s (about 20 years ago) I donated regularly to charities thousands every year to things like United Way. I always thought the MORE I had the more society can benefit and the more people I can help. But through hard lessons I found out that most people in Canada are not like this.
