entropicshart,

Still no plans/pricing for Proton Pass Family (only the full proton suite).

Proton is missing many users with this simple lack of effort; not everyone wants drive, vpn, etc.

Some folks just want a password manager for the immediate and extended family; and often times we are willing to just pay a few bucks extra per month and not worry about helping these people after they get hacked, due to terrible passwords.

entropicshart,

Sure this is a piece of shit, but that other piece of shit is worse!

Democracy is not dying, it was dead when this kind of thinking became the norm.

Kick all these geriatric fucks out and let people vote for someone they want, not a party.

Aptoide app store hits iOS in the European Union (www.notebookcheck.net)

As a direct consequence of the European Union’s Digital Markets Act (DMA), the Google Play alternative Aptoide is now ready to take on iOS as well. The closed launch will take place tomorrow, and new users will need an invitation to join. Between 500 and 1,000 daily invites will be issued in the first stage....

entropicshart,

I am more excited that Apple is being forced to allow other browser engines on iOS.

In 2024 I should not be forced to browse ad riddled websites that risk seizures upon loading, and further redirecting you to more shit when you try to close it, on a $1000 handheld computer.

Give us a browser engine that supports proper extensions, not this shit that is as old as the original iPhone!

entropicshart,

I don’t mean that it’s been around for a long time, but the lack of innovation on it.

Plugins in browsers have been a crucial function for years and available on Android. The only reason they’re not on iOS is because Apple forces all browsers to use WebKit instead of Gecko/Blink/etc, like they do everywhere else.

entropicshart,

I’ve been debating for a while to switch windows to Linux and see how well it works for my games, thanks Microsoft for finally pushing me to do it!

Only thing keeping me on windows has been games (all other development use is far easier on Linux); but with the work that happened with Steam Deck, many games are now fully functional on Linux.

entropicshart,

Exactly what I was wondering; it always had a single tail, are they just fist pumping into the air that they’re finally being deep throated by an alein?

entropicshart,

Very excited for this! Been wanting to come back for replays but was not looking forward to fixing mod complications again.

entropicshart,

The Entertainment Software Association had pushed for the exemption for game consoles, arguing that including them would have made it easier to add chips that allow people to play pirated games.

What a load of utter shit. It would allow consumers to fix their things without dealing with crooks. Take a good look at Asus, they’re only the latest example.

entropicshart,

A simple fact that consoles require a monthly subscription to play anything with friends is why they will never reach PC gaming.

I paid for hardware, I paid for the game, I pay for the internet; fuck your subscription just to join an online server you contribute nothing to.

entropicshart,

Now that is something worth chopping some hands off for

entropicshart,

Bungie discusses their next terrible decision that will yet again, drive their cash cow into the ground.

entropicshart,

That is a lot of words, seems like the main points are:

  • Restoration of criminal liability for minor health harm and battery, with potential fines or up to two years’ imprisonment.
  • Reclassification of beating as a criminal offense, punishable by up to 50 days in jail.
  • Tougher stance on torture, with acts of extreme cruelty now punishable by up to seven years’ imprisonment.
  • Enhanced measures against domestic violence, including isolation orders and a specialized police unit.
  • Life imprisonment for severe crimes against minors, such as murder, rape, or sexual assault.
  • Introduction of criminal liability for sexual harassment of individuals under 16.
  • Increased sentences for child abduction and illegal deprivation of minors’ liberty.
  • No reconciliation exemption for crimes against minors, aiming to protect victims from returning to abusive situations.
  • New regulations to combat minor suicides, bullying, and cyber-bullying, with parental accountability for young perpetrators.
  • Establishment of support systems, including a call center for family issues and Family Support Centers, with mandatory psychological assistance for offenders.

Overall seems like it is adding a lot of great things; hopefully without any loopholes

entropicshart,

hoard of weapons

A shotgun, a pea shooter, and 3 mall ninja knives; amazed he was able to carry such a “hoard”

entropicshart,

The amount of times the same point is repeated in here made me question if I was even scrolling.

entropicshart, (edited )

But will they try to charge you $200 for a cosmetic scratch that now warrants a screen replacement and paying for shipping without fixing the original manufacturer defects?

Edit: context

entropicshart,

I haven’t trusted Asus as a brand for several years already, nice reminder to keep on avoiding any of their products for the foreseeable future.

I am still sad that EVGA stopped producing Nvidia GPus as they were my go to for a long time.

4 months durability for an $800 phone!

My old $200 Motorola G9 Power phone lasted almost 4 years with only very minor scratches. Obviously in that period I have dropped it a few times getting out of the car, where the phone sometimes work itself out of my pant pocket while I drive, and then it slips out when I get out of the car. But no problem on my previous phones,...

entropicshart,

Searching in google

why do phones have glass backs And all the top results explain why in a single sentence: wireless charging.

You can’t have wireless charging with metal backplates, hence the glass, which is often not your ordinary glass but things like gorilla glass which is much harder to crack.

I know it still sucks; I have an iPhone 12 that was still in great condition after 4yrs, never used a case on it; but one day at the pool of my son recording a video and dropping it just right, cracked the back. I just stuck a dbrand sticker onto the back to hold the glass in place and it continues to work without issue!

entropicshart,

This is why I refuse to use any download buttons on websites for FOSS apps; if it’s FOSS, it has a link to the source, which has releases, and is the safest way to ensure you’re getting what you actually want.

entropicshart,

Just a note this is two months ago. Thought it was new game they had since then.

entropicshart,

Contractors really had to report it? Seems like she was living there without disturbing anything /one

entropicshart,

Does this mean that Sony will try to push the account requirement again on HD2, now that countries without PSN access are delisted?

Immich x FUTO Q&A (www.youtube.com)

Short version of this interview is that nothing is changing, other than they’re going to be asking a flat fee “$5-20” for the app, rather than relying on donations. All donation platforms have been closed. However, if you choose not to, as Louis says “that’s between you and your God”....

entropicshart,

And a letter away from Futa, which has a whole other world of a meaning…

Arrowhead CEO says Helldivers 2 balancing patches have 'gone too far' recently: 'It feels like every time someone finds something fun, the fun is removed' (www.pcgamer.com)

Replying to a player on Twitter who said recent patches have made the game “unplayable,” Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt conceded that he’s not satisfied with his studio’s current balancing approach....

entropicshart,

Credit grinding is only possible on high level missions, which are easier done with the unbalanced weapons. Even then on average you will extract with 5-10 credits per mission, which makes the 1000 point buy-in take ~150 missions to complete, ranging from 25-40min per mission.

So you estimate someone playing an average of 30min per mission * 150 missions = 75hrs of play time (if you’re lucky to survive and extract each mission that is).

Or someone can pay $10 and instantly have access to those clearly over powered weapons.

This is by definition a setup of micro transactions, which is weighted to put players who don’t no life the game to feel like they have to keep buying credits to get usable gear.

entropicshart,

Embed still shows the typo, so it’s definitely from the article itself.
