Writer, walker, atheist, cinema lover, hobby musician, science junkie, perpetual maths student, cricket fan, chess patzer. I post about new music a LOT! #Music#NewMusic

The Bisoprolol tablets I got to fill my latest prescription are heart shaped. They literally look like this = 🤍
I reckon it’s a function of how many of them they make and sell. The only reason to go to the extra effort (and probably expense) to make a medication that is prescribed frequently for heart issues in the shape of a heart is that it's profitable.
Things I never thought I'd hear on cricket commentary:
“A change of bowling. Forbes coming on at the Strathearn end.”
If you’re from East Belfast, you'll understand ☺️
If you're not (highly likely), I’ll inform you that Strathearn is a girls’ grammar school in the Belmont area of East Belfast. https://www.strathearn.org.uk
When I was first thinking about joining a cricket club in my teens I went to a net practice session at CIYMS in Belmont. In the end I joined Civil Service at Stormont. As it was within walking distance of my house.
I recall hitting one of the CIYMS batters on the hand at the practice. He suspected a broken finger 😬
In today’s good news column, we can put that I found out there is a sequel to the film Drive Away Dolls. It’s already been filmed and is currently in post-production.
I’m not sure if it’s a direct sequel or is just part of a film trilogy in the same style as Drive Away Dolls. Margaret Qualley is starring, but Geraldine Viswanathan and Beanie Feldstein don’t seem to be returning.
James, Anna, Andy and Dan discuss speeding pennies, presidents, peanuts and parasites. Visit https://www.nosuchthingasafish.com for news about live shows, merchandise and more episodes.
Given all the reboots that happen in Hollywood, I’m surprised they haven’t remade a film version of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. One closer to the book. Not slavishly following the books, but closer than the 2005 film.
32 new releases made it into my library this week. Apple Music playlist with one track from each below. Spotify playlist tomorrow. Track order might change.
“So when we turned to our colleagues on the Ghost core team last week and asked for "just 2 more tables, come on, we promised it in the newsletter" — it didn't go down nearly as well as we'd hoped.
Something about "unsustainable" and "who is writing this fucking newsletter".”
“Last week we promised you earth-shattering innovation in the form of database persistence. Did we achieve that? We did not. So, like every tired product manager in the history of ever, I will now attempt to explain that away and still sound totally optimistic — leading you to believe that our initial time estimates remain both accurate and relevant.” https://activitypub.ghost.org/day2/?ref=building-activitypub-newsletter
