I’ve worked around buffalo, the last bloody thing I would do is try to milk one.

favorite ‘anti-imperialist’ regime is murderous and oppressive

I didn’t even realize that was debatable, especially after the protest murders and executions.

I got a €90 fine from police in paris

Was cycling one of those small access roads that straddle the very large main roads. There was a wall between that and the main road. A police van and fire engine were blocking the road, and it was cordoned off with tape. I went on the pavement, very slowly, walking pace. But the municipal police stopped me and asked for my...

Since your buddy didn’t get fined and you did, chances are your attitude and manners got you the fine more than the act.

I’ve gotten pulled over for speeding and other infractions, but I’m pleasant and friendly with the cop; most of the time they let me go with a warning. You want to be an entitled butthead when you break the law, and you’ll find out who is holding the pen.

OK, I don’t understand what Bibeau is saying. “CRA does not intend to collect any portion of any non-resident landlords’ unpaid taxes from individual tenants. It is incorrect to state otherwise” and " there is not a single instance of an assessment made to an individual tenant in the last decade."

Yet a tenant has been ordered by the tax court and lost an appeal to this exact effect. Is she just lying through her teeth and gaslighting her way through? Sure seems like it.

Needs moar caps to be truly conservative.

Sticky trick: new glue spray kills plant pests without chemicals (www.theguardian.com)

The insect glue, produced from edible oils, was inspired by plants such as sundews that use the strategy to capture their prey. A key advantage of physical pesticides over toxic pesticides is that pests are highly unlikely to evolve resistance, as this would require them to develop much larger and stronger bodies, while bigger...

You end up looking at economic thresholds and add on some of the beneficial as part of that equation. If the bad bug destroys the crop entirely, then there’s nothing there for the beneficial to benefit.

And yah, yah, its not all about the crops, but in the end, it’s all about the crop or people are starving.

4ish years ago when I bought a house I was convinced not to get a house inspection, would it be crazy to get one now just to make sure it's all good?

Was 25 and super nervous, so when the realtor was like “oh yeah they just check for basic stuff, but I looked around and it looks great” I was like “Oh okay, this is so astronomically expensive every penny saved is good…”...

Work remote from rural areas. Or just find a reasonable paying job in those areas. I see nice places in the 200k’s in towns under 5000 near me.

Because they live on enough land to shoot there? Not everyone has a 10,000 sf yard.

Chilling.

But I’ve watched the narratives that CBC pushes over the years, and the obviousness of much of it has long ago driven me away from lending it any credence. Internationally, the CBC is a joke media outlet and disregarded by virtually everyone. Shit like this is why.

Maybe I'm just new, but I just realized you can Ctrl-select or Ctrl-dblclick individual, separate pieces of text and copy them to the clipboard in one operation.

I have no idea how long this has been a thing, and maybe every clipboard works that way, not just Plasma, and I never realized it. It also lets you do things like Rt-click on it and do the regular operations like Search in Firefox. Spaces aren’t preserved unless you specifically select them but search engines seem to be able...

Talking about the first. Seems to work in Libreoffice as well, but not Kate and Konsole. So it’s definitely app specific, not a KDE thing.

Haha. Well, my first computer was an Apple II, if that counts…

I’d imagine this is more about making sure facial recognition works. Can’t Big Brother if they plebs are covering their faces.

I don’t mind the electric ones, but I had a neighbour that would fire up a two-stroke backpack monster at 6 AM any morning there was the barest skiff of snow. And he’d try for hours blowing heavier snow that he could have had shovelled in 15 minutes. He was generally just an asshole neighbour all around.

I wonder what internet I’ve been using for the last 30 years.

The T-Pot installation needs at least 8-16 GB RAM, 128 GB free disk space

Good lord.

And fuck curl-bash script installers.

I’m convinced this a troll account now, nobody is this fucking stupid.
