Spam caller, ‘Chris’, trying to wheedle money out of me, presumably: “Customers are saying they’re having problems with their phone network. Are you having any?”
Me: “Yes, I am.”
‘Chris’: “What sort of problems?”
Me: “A screaming sound.”
‘Chris’: “Erm…?”
Me, getting into my stride: “Yes, whenever I try to make a call there’s a screaming sound. I think my phone might be haunted. By a ghost, maybe a spectre, possibly a wraith…”
‘Chris’: “ ¿”
Me, flying now: “I took my phone to a priest and he confirmed that it’s definitely haunted. I think it’s by the spirit of the little girl who was killed in a bombing raid in the 1940s…”
‘Chris’: hangs up

Nu har jag varit 50 i 10 dagar.
Hur det känns?
Det känns i varje förbannad led.
Det var som om en strömbrytare slogs om.
Nästa gång jag fyller 50 kommer jag vägra!

I think maybe the best tribute I can make to my mom (other than to mention how decent, how sweet, how respectful to others she was), is to show you pictures of our garden.

She was an artist, but also a gardener. She somehow instilled both of those things in me, so that twenty-three years after she passed and 3000 miles away, we have a nice garden. I think of her often when I’m working in it.

Her garden was full of roses, boxwood, azaleas and wildflowers. I wish I had pictures of it to show you.

Thanks, Mom.

The southwest corner of the garden, featuring Geranium maderense, Cala Lily and Birds Nest Fern. The corner of our wooden fence is in the background.
Taken from the back (west) end of the garden, looking southeast. Areas of sun and shade. Trunks of a holly tree take up the left edge of the photo, with Geranium maderense and other plants in the background.

Seriously heard someone saying they don't listen to many black artists, because they aren't really into rap. Bitch please, feel free to share songs from Black artists from any genre. Here is one of my favorites, if you like this song please check out her other work:

I don’t know what to say anymore after the brain worms and tuna fish sandwich thing.

mothninja,
@mothninja@mastodon.world avatar

@StillIRise1963 ...I have never been more pleased to have zero context for whatever you're talking about. It's 2024. "Brain worms and tuna fish sandwich thing" could refer to anything from a new diss track to alien invasion. I don't think I have the energy to find out which.

mothninja,
@mothninja@mastodon.world avatar

@StillIRise1963 omg, context acquired. Would not have called any of that in a million years. What the actual.
