What's irritating about data storage is that you just keep needing more of it. It's never enough. And yet do you even access most of this data? No. It just keeps piling up.

Yup I've been pondering this the last few days.

Actual data that is truly important fits on a flash drive. I've started to do pointless stuff like resizing mastodon photos smaller so they take less space when backuped lol.

Ah! I thought it was about backing g up stuff offline not the cloud storage for mastodon. Yeah no idea how your folks deal with that it's endless and costs money.

I was watching a video of immigrants to Canada being interviewed about how hard life is with wages and healthcare. Almost every single one of them said ‘I came here coz I thought it was a functional country’

See I came to a not functional country so I wouldn’t be disappointed

@MayInToronto @skinnylatte I've been keeping an eye out as I want to move back to Canada - lived in van from 2015-22, montreal for a year plus before.

The various crisises make me wonder if returning in the next year or two is a good idea tbh.

(Plus I've quit my job and am a solo indie game dev. With no published games yet my income is zero lol. No landlord would pick me up as a renter even though I can pay the rent.)

    Suuuper productive today, setup the audio in the game to have various reverb mixes, also setup how to save the game settings and sorted out the ui for all of the above.
