Went to this place in Oslo today. I like it because it and the people who go there display some semblance of character and individuality, which can not be said for the rest of the city. It's a little bit like Kristiania in Copenhagen. I wish I could live and work in a place like that.

Sunblock? No thanks. Icky. I don't use any kind of lotion because the sensation is so unpleasant. And you're already sweating from the heat. I'm quite sure it would be hopeless anyway. I'd sweat and wipe all the lotion away.

I suspect Scandinavia - especially Sweden - is good at pop #musicproduction precisely BECAUSE of its lack of defining characteristics. If the music isn't too weird or complex but the melodic and harmonic core is strong, it'll be palatable to more people.

In the United States, one genre with such a strong core is country music. When American country singers take that strong core and get rid of the fiddles, hats and boots, they often become quite popular.

I was watching a music documentary in which ABBA and the Sex Pistols were compared, since they were contemporaries, and one commentator described ABBA as "something high-functional with a good cheer", with the on-screen footage strongly implying that the Sex Pistols were the polar opposite.

Our foods are often like that. There is one variety of each food. It is bland and the name literally just translates to "cheese", "ham", etc.
