Which ones are you thinking? Bertuzzi and Domi had 4 points each in the playoffs. Domi took some dumb penalties, but you can hardly say he didn’t do much.
but Treliving’s forward additions didn’t do much either.
I believe that Domi and the larger defencemen brought in, improved the team. It’ll be an interesting summer for sure! Edit, forgot to mention Dewar too. Char players that take up the slack when it’s gut check time. That’s why I like Nylander so much.
We’ve been eating it on back-to-back’s, but we play better against better teams. We also play better at arenas that don’t have shit ice (like the Rock does). LGD
Vitek playing at a league average level would be a big help. He’s playing a lot worse than he has for most of his career. Don’t know what the answer is.
Great write up, though I think our d-core is going to be better than they’re getting credit for. If Sanderson continues to improve at the same pace and Chabot gets back to form (which is hopeful if he gets a lighter load), Chychrun and Zub round out a killer top 4.
Agreed! The wildcards for me are injuries and how well they can get each lines to gel. Lots of talent but we haven’t really seen consistent lines. Hopefully they can figure it out early in the season!
I am surprised that Hoffman is not on this list, but they think Armia is worse, even if his contract end next year like Hoffman. After thinking about it, I have to agree. Armia was completely useless at the beginning of the season.
I’m not sold on Slafkovsky’s hockey IQ. Kid got blind-sided two-dozen times last year.
Also notable, feels like this list is a sign that we are finally giving up on Primeau as the next starter. I think Monty will be better than expected this upcoming season. He played well last year behind a terrible team.
I’m not ready to throw the towel on Slafkowsky yet. I see his problem as being similar to Lindros’s; they’re big guys and never had to keep their heads up in juniors, so they didn’t grow up with that mentality. But I hope St. Louis can impress the need to keep mindful of his surroundings.
