deltatux,

Novo Nordisk, the pharmaceutical giant behind the super popular "Ozempic" diabetic drug, announces that Canada will experience an intermittent short supply for the drug in the coming months.

While it was originally meant to treat Type 2 Diabetes, endocrinologists have been prescribing higher dosage of the drug for cosmetic weight-loss purposes instead, which adds to the supply constraints.

smooz,

@deltatux my husband who is a diabetic and has been taking 2mg for months can’t find his prescription anywhere. He will have to start from scratch with his dosages if he can’t stay on schedule and now he’ll have to contend with people starting with lower doses to lose weight. This seems like a never ending battle for him. 😡
