Highly recommend an automatic pet feeder.

I never had cats over-eat (except one ex-feral) until the kittens, but it's been incredibly useful to be able to limit their food. Just from pix online, a lot of people have clearly overweight pets.

They'll live longer, be happier, and you'll save money too. $40 for an auto feeder seemed silly but it's really crazy cheap considering. The cats go NUTS for it too

@SirTapTap the dogs can't walk themselves.

@Osito I'm sure that's a factor too, but less for cats. The kittens spend about 2-4 hours a day fighting each other

@SirTapTap Honestly it's helped my cat stop overeating. Used to be we'd put food in the bowl and she'd scarf it down so fast she'd choke. With a timed feeder she actually leaves food in the bowl, 'cos she knows exactly when more is coming.

@CactuarJoe Yeah I was worried about that with Shine, he is incredibly food motivated. I split their feeding into 2 meals while I'm in bed after I separate them. Was basically necessary because parker needs special very expensive food
