Russia has launched an offensive into the #Kharkiv region, and it has created a lot of alarmist news reports: in reality it is difficult to see what Russia's plan is.

As Anders pointed out, you can't succeed by pushing all along the contact line. The Ukrainians kind of made the same mistake when they pushed in multiple areas during their failed offensive. But hey, the Russians probably wanted to test this strategy on a larger scale and hope for a different result?
