"Chinese American voters in the city have long supported Chinese American candidates, but that may be starting to change.

In recent elections, Chinese American politicians, who’ve tended to be more progressive, haven’t always won the support of increasingly moderate-leaning Chinese American voters galvanized during the pandemic due to anti-Asian hate, concerns about street conditions and crime, and public school closures."

@bicmay article is also missing context of big tech fascists funding political organizing that cynically exploits the fears from the anti-Asian hate crimes, and Asian community’s anti-Blackness. There are plenty of radical and progressive AAPI folks here; this narrative simply shows that we are not monoliths.

@skinnylatte On setting minority communities against each other, it's also going on to set Blacks and Jews against each other. Not sure of timeline, I'm not in the U.S., but worse in the last decade?
i don't have the spoons to try to research parallels with what you mention. Comparison could be useful for better understanding of how this is happening, whether it finds mostly similarities or differences.
