IMO, seeing something new is good, no matter what the reason for visiting. My significant other tricked me into a trip to Europe because I told her I wanted to see the Alexanderplatz ( or Fernsehturm?). Reason- because it was referenced in a Robert Ludlum novel. Did I see many more significant sights, of course.

@JohnnieMac The Alexanderplatz is one of my fave European squares! I don’t know if I'd agree that seeing something new is always good, if it takes away time you could've spent on a non-tourist trap sight.

@timrichards I never know if things like this are a "just me" thing, but surely everyone knew and loved the story long before Disney got its big three-fingered gloves on it. Or at least everyone knew of it.
