Fuck's sake Poland, pick a side.

My understanding is that Poland and the other bordering countries -- also grain producers -- are okay with being transit countries for grain being shipped through the EU, but object to having the grain being sold in the EU.

Ulara,

To be precise, they are OK with the grain being sold to Spain and other Western Europe countries, but object to having the grain being sold in Poland and other bordering countries.

Ah, I think you're right, though I'm surprised how hard it is to get clarity on this online.

So you're telling me that there's been an EU-wide ban on cheap grain while the prices of wheat products in supermarkets continue to skyrocket?

nyctre,

No, the ban is only for domestic sales in Bulgaria, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland and Romania. Apparently it’s meant to help local farmers that also produce it. Grain is still flowing through to be sold in other eu countries.

aggelalex,

I hope it gets dismissed.
