Is there's any libre software that could maintain an offline index of my #archive disks?
I'd like to be able to search for files without having to plug them in one by one, so I can fetch the right one right away.
I imagine something lie this must exist for tape archives, but I don't use TAR files for archival, and I suspect the offline #search tools I've heard about are proprietary to companies selling these huge LTO systems.
