Mekong Review needs POSSE! – at this stage, just to notify readers on all platforms when a new post is available on their website. Can experts here help to achieve this with simple steps & minimal disruption? Perhaps starting by making the RSS feed visible?

@ClaireFromClare I'm not sure if I'm understanding the question correctly -- but I believe that is a WordPress site and has a built in RSS feed:

@anuckols Thanks, I had found that this site could work in my RSS reader but thought it useful to show readers that an RSS link exists? (Otherwise people will not think to try?) & if RSS-ready, maybe that could assist automation of posts to other sites?

@ClaireFromClare Yeah, they can put an icon on the site indicating that the RSS feed is available:

And for posting to Mastodon, there's an activity pub plugin for WordPress:

@anuckols Thank you - I see mixed reports from those trying the #WordPress plugin but in principle it sounds great! That may sort out RSS & Mastodon posting - & @bookandswordblog suggested that https://ifttt.com might automate posting to other social media sites. I've never used WordPress; is it important / straightforward to sort out the validator's recommendations to improve the RSS?

@ClaireFromClare @bookandswordblog I've never used WordPress either. Guessing it's fine to not worry about the validator's RSS improvement recommendations (it would be for WordPress to sort out and probably works fine).

@kixes Not sure if you've seen the discussion above, but since the #MekongReview website is on WordPress already,
(1) it has an existing RSS feed (worth highlighting - I'm so glad to have found this!);
(2) posts to Mastodon can be automated with WordPress plugin;
(3) https://ifttt.com/ may help to automate posts to other platforms?

@ClaireFromClare @anuckols @bookandswordblog Thank you for sending this along. I’ll have to find out what is possible with the way our website is set up. Also most of our articles are paywalled because MR works on a subscription basis to support ourselves, so I really don’t know how much use people might get out of an RSS feed…
