Why can't we shoot down exactly the same Shahed drones over #Ukraine, just like that - without a state of war?!
@insights Hi, because Russia is a nuclear armed power and there's an unwritten but absolutely iron clad rule that no two nuclear powers can engage each other directly, for what should be the dead obvious reason.
Understanding this explains pretty much every conflict of the past 80 years (literally the entire Cold War, for example), so I hope this helps.
That rule was never followed up since Korean war. Russians or Chinese pilots or weapons operators were always at hand in wars in the Middle or Far east.
@hittitezombie@insights what? That's not what I'm talking about at all. Unless you're claiming that Russian and Chinese fighter pilots did combat with American (or NATO countries in general) aircraft during either Gulf War? That's literally never happened.
